Who here thinks that if this same thing had been released by others it would have six pages of posts already? smile

If it had come from another label, I'd have said what I think of the Goldsmith score. But seeing as it's you, who gives me so many prized scores, I'll maintain a respectful silence until it's sold out.

Funnily, for me this release wasn't really about the Goldsmith, it was about the Sobel and an injustice done by not having the score that's actually in the film released. That, and the dismissive tone of the notes of the original release of the Goldsmith score, which I found truly offensive - so, Nick and I felt it was high time for the Sobel score to be released and since the Goldsmith score was OOP and we knew it would help sales to have it, we included it. And it's fascinating to compare the scores, too.

Don't see my pal 1980s Whore here. I mean, if you're a 1980s Whore and post about every 80s score, not sure how you can ignore something like this, but what do I know? smile

I see I'm late to the party! Never fear Mr. Kimmel, I am here and will be placing an order today or tomorrow. Thank you kindly for this release and always looking forward to the next! smile

Well, never fear, Kritzerland lovers, we have some amazing Golden and Silver Age stuff coming shortly.

Thanks for keeping the golden age & silver age collectors in mind Bruce. I'm greatly looking forward to these cds when ready, I buy them all. Glad Alien Nation is selling so well! smile

I ordered this as much for the Sobel score as Goldsmith's (which I have never owned).

Thanks for another great (and reasonably priced) release!

It is mind boggling why Varese didn't do this in the first place...
It gives me the impression that Varese has a more blunt object way of doing business instead of really caring about the music and composer. Their new focus on concerts, notwithstanding, but to dis Sobel only because, "He ain't Goldsmith," was most certainly an injustice.

I'm compelled to get this now.... hmmmm... decisions!

Great release,,,
I allready own the Varese but will happily put down money for the Sobel score.

Hope Kritzerland can do the same justice to GLADIATOR (1992) with Brad Fiedels unreleased score where Intrada missed the chance when they released Goldsmith's rejected.
The Fiedel score is in the same vein as Terminator 2.

Ordered Alien Nation along with Michael Small's Star Chamber.

It's good that Golden Age will return soon, since looking at the other labels, it seems that True Grit is the only thing this fall close to Golden Age.

That was what I was thinking when another label released the rejected score to Gladiator by Goldsmith, but not the supperior one from Brad Fiedel.
This release of Alien Nation is as good as it can get with both scores to a great price smile
