The discs have footage from the movies, deleted scenes (presented from VHS as the original negatives were destroyed for some unfathomable reason), and some skits on the extras disc such as: Shelly survived part 3 and opened a law firm defending slasher victims. smile

It is a really fun set. Now I have to listen to the creators commentary. I'm milking this set for all it's worth.

Going to buy the box set of films today and was disappointed to read some reviews that indicate 1) The original theatrical cut of the first film is not included (REALLY?) and 2) The unrated cut of Jason Goes to Hell is not included.

That's...odd. If it's true, that's a bummer about the first film, as I felt the effects shots that were re-inserted should have been left out. The makeup/apparatus around Kevin Bacon's neck was grossly apparent in the additional shots.

From what I've read, yes, both of those are true. Friday the 13th is only the extended unrated cut (the R rating for it on the packing is simply an error), and Jason Goes to Hell is only the theatrical cut.

The latter wouldn't bother me too much, since I don't care for it, but it's a shame they couldn't have included theatrical and uncut versions of both.

This really makes no sense. Just offer the dang disc. Heck, there was even space at the back of the case to place the disc. It's just going to end up on torrents. Might as well profit from it while you can.

To quote Peter Griffin getting interrupted by the trumpet: "Oh, this is bull[honk]!"

I had no idea the bonus disc would be limited, or that it would expire so soon. It came out barely two weeks ago! I just dropped about $45 last night for some other stuff, and if I'd known this would be unavailable so soon I would have gotten it instead. Looks like I'll probably have to miss out on it, though. I'm sure the seven-hour documentary itself is fantastic, but I definitely would love to have gotten the bonus disc, as I've heard some of the best stories are actually from that.

I have come to believe that, yes, the better stories are on the extras disc. I think they made lots of mistakes leaving many of these out.

If you miss out, contact me at above e-mail.

Moment that made me laugh like a sane person: John D. LeMay's pride at surviving Jason: "I survived the film and it's an honor, not a lot of people can say that. My obituary will say "John LeMay, survived Jason...but could not survive...life."

Ok, you got me curious, what did he say or act like? Also, are there more interviews about the tv series on the bonus disc? Great to see John D. Lemay is winning lots of awards wink

Also, did they get Kevin Bacon to talk about his role? He has spoken about his kill on talk shows etc.

Kevin Bacon didn't appear on the doc. I did see his Leno interview and mention of his "classic slasher death scene".

Mollin was talking very heatedly and profanely about sound effects representatives trying to supercede the importance of his music in the sound mix. In general, not on the Friday film (if I recall). I understand him being protective of his work and believing in music over sound effects, I might even agree with him, but it was the way he spewed obscenities in a haughty, condescending way, like a kid in high school talking shit. Not professional in my humble opinion, and made him come across like a defensive, prickly person who thinks he's hot shit. I don't like to write negative when I can help it, but since you asked!

No Williams or Miner? I'm surprised, and a little saddened.

I know, it's too bad. However, Williams (who is quite a character!) was interviewed in the Crystal Lake Memories book.
