My favorite TV series in B&W are:

  • THE OUTER LIMITS
  • DANGER MAN
  • GIDEON'S WAY (GIDEON C.I.D.)
  • GHOST SQUAD
  • THE ADDAMS FAMILY

    plus a number of others.

I think THE TWILIGHT ZONE episodes shot by George T. Clemens are not as impressive as the ones filmed by 'guest' photographers, such as Fred Mandl ("Come Wander With Me") or Harry Wild ("Third From The Sun").

I have fond memories of a one-season show (1959-60) that I only saw in syndication. It was "Tightrope!" which starred Mike Connors as an undercover police agent, who hid his gun in the small of his back (I loved that gimmick). My recollection is that the show featured some good film-noirish photography.

Another show that seemed to have more than its share of stylishly lit night scenes was Lee Marvin's "M Squad" (1957-60).

This one is a forgotten independant horror anthology entitled "Way Out" (1961),
    hosted by writer Roald Dalh.
I only watched five episodes but the tone is unusual and uncanny.
