Only old 'arry can see his team get thumped 4 zip with non-existent tactical nous and yet come out of it with a contract extension. Unbelievable Jeff!!

I don't think Liverpool played that bad last night.
The gulf between the two sides ain't that big, we just committed some schoolboy errors and got punished for them by a very clinical side (the champions at home, let us not forget). Plus, we wasted our chances.
It was always going to be difficult playing 10 men versus 11 (I never count Glen Johnson when he's on the pitch now...let's hope his injury gives someone else a chance to cement their place in the side).
They beat us at their place last season and we coped well enough besides that setback. Chelsea beat them home and away last season and finished behind us (it's a funny old game).
Also don't forget, we would have been without Suarez even if we'd kept him, due to his insatiable hunger for the game.
Come May next year, I fully believe we will be in the mix for the title.

I think you will be in for top three kev - will see how the balotelli thing goes.
He settles in and starts scoring - added to your goals from midfield - you are gonna be up there.
Its just that if a top side has a weakness - most liverpool fans are recognising Johnsons had a few crap seasons by his standards- and its still looking a bit flimsy at the back overall - That first goal last night was shocking! - then it can make all the difference over a season each time that weakness costs you points. If a team is midtable it dont matter. Up the top it can be the difference between. 1st and 3rd.

My concern is it's going to take time for the new players to settle and adjust. You can't replace or buy what Suarez has, his will to win literally at all costs rubbed off on the rest of the team. I don't think Liverpool will get away with defensive errors like they did last season. City weren't great last night and they didn't need to be, which is worrying.

Nice one!

But I'd think lost on our American friends.

Poor old ManU, you just have to laugh smile

*for our american friend/s, milton keynes is an old small town expanded into a big new town which has a phenomenal amount of roundabouts in, around and through it. Now grown into huge 'town' of some 250,000 and is pushing for and awaiting City status.
Anyway, they have a lot of roundabouts.
Like all new towns full of new builds.
But milton keynes has more roundabouts than most.
More than Basildon and harlow put together.

Perhaps the man utd coach went round a few roundabouts on the way in and their players were dizzy before they were passed dizzy by milton keynes football team.
Being such a football genius, you would expect van gaal to have brought the players down the day before to give them a chance to acclimatise after the wobbles of the roundabouts, wouldnt you.

Its a known fact that roundabout wobbles can be worse than jet lag.

Americans might feel quite at home in MK - it's got the most soul-less mega-contiguous shopping centre I've ever visited, designed purely to suck every last penny out of your aching pocket without the respite of natural historical features to leaven the pain.

But, more than that, the new town is built on a grid system, the main roads being numbered V1, V2, V3 etc for Vertical and H1, H2, H3 etc for Horizontal. However, the map shows that both V and H roads actually go equally at NW-SE and NE-SW, not N-S and E-W as you might expect.

I have some in-laws that live in Milton Keynes. It's an awful place.

There are 16 roundabouts in Harlow.
A little more in basildon.

Milton keynes has 300 proper roundabouts, and painted circle mini roundabouts, over a 1000.

How exciting

Ha, I was doing the washing-up listening to Radio5 live (I know how to have a good time) & Leeds were winning & 10 man Arsenal were hanging on to a 1-0 lead, & in the space of a couple of minutes Leeds were 1-1 & then 1-2, & Arsenal hung on. Arsenal have started off the season not so good, but they know how to roll-up their sleeves up & grind out a result, something that's beneath ManU players, after all, they are...Manchester United!

I looked up our (former) manager's name the other day. Hockaday is an old English word meaning "Around for a long time". David is an old Welsh word meaning "Not likely To Be".

And so it proved. So long, Hock. Manager #1 down under the Godfather!
