I can't stop spinning ESCAPE FROM L.A. The sound quality is muscular, and the expanded presentation is a much more gratifying listen than the wimpy Milan release. So stoked to have this. Highly recommended.
Me too!!! The score has real appeal to it. Josh, you're spot on about the quality. I really notice the high quality while listening through headphones. Two of my fav tracks at the moment are 'Weapons/Snake's Uniform' and 'Showdown'.
Also, how good are those liner notes! Some of the finest I've read in a while. A big thank you to Daniel Schweiger. If you read this Daniel you should be very proud of your work in producing the notes. Extremely comprehensive and makes the CD a must purchase for any fan.

Same. I've been playing this and The Matrix Reloaded/Revolutions nonstop since their releases. So satisfying. It's an entirely different score compared to the Milan release. John Carpenter scores expand so well.
I've been playing Escape a couple of times this weekend and have to admit I had to struggle to make it through the complete disc, a lot of synth underscore that got repetitive after a while and the cues that feature orchestra are ok but are nothing earth shattering. Middle range Carpenter for me, maybe it will benefit from a shorter playlist (for me at least).
ESCAPE FROM L.A. — great album (replaces my 100-year-old promo version.) One thing I could never figure out was why the main title was called "Escape From New York Main Title."

Because that is what it is....
It was just a new arrangement..
It's also worth mentioning that Carpenter also own a portion of this tune as well.
