I didn’t care for the youtube music backing that one scene from THE BIRDS, but I’ve always thought that movie did need a music score. Tippi Hedren’s blasé, mannequin-like performance ruined the movie for me. I didn’t find it scary. However, with the right score, the “scare factors” might have at least been enhanced.
Didn’t the movie FAIL-SAFE starring Henry Fonda lack any music? I thought it was an effective movie without a film score.
