Who the FUCK would want to WATCH SUCH GARBAGE?!?!?!?!?!?! This piece of celluloid trash is....well.... TRASH. There's no reason for this type of film to exist.
Well, I was not interested in seeing it, but my husband wanted to watch it (Cage always has good movies?) and I was interesting in hearing JJ's last score. I have to agree with Jim, the film is garbage and who would watch it? Well, we did and after it was over we looked at each other and could not figure out why anyone would even make this movie? I know for a fact now that these types of films and scores are not for me and never will be. I have yet to find a JJ score that I have liked except Arrival.
I'm not surprised it's a very divisive film. There are those who think it's a near-masterpiece and those who think it's garbage. Very little inbetween. I'm glad to be on the positive side, as I think it's a marvelous cross between David Lynch, Dario Argento and Clive Barker.
The film is a bit of a mind f**k but if you stick with it you are rewarded with an enjoyable homage to 80s VHS horror movies. The Chedder Goblin stole the show though.
