I'd like to see "Guilty As Sin" then, if he's looking into his past scores.

Second!

Besides, I would like the release of "Single White White female" and "A kiss before dying" (2 wonderful scores!!!!)

I watched the commentary for ED WOOD on the Blu-ray a couple of months ago, and Tim Burton said that the idea for the epilogue showing what happened to everyone actually came about quite late in the post-production process. Taking that into account, I'm wondering if the album version of "This Is The One" was written for the earlier version of the scene, minus the epilogue, and if so it the film version actually a different take with more music, or was it created editorially by repeating music from the cue? If the latter is the case, then that probably explains why the film version isn't on this expanded CD, as it wouldn't be reflective of the music as composed. If not, there must be some other reason that it's not been included.

The film version is indeed a complete rescore, and a superb one at that. Which is myself and others decided not to get this release -- that cue would have justified the entire rerelease, but no. Huge missed opportunity.

Huge missed opportunity.

I guess the new release is good for those who haven't been able to find the original at a decent price, but for those of us who have it, the expanded album is not worth the price for such a minimal upgrade.

I agree. When I saw the film again many times on VHS after purchasing the soundtrack, I noticed that this cue was longer in the film than in the CD and I've always thought it was the result of an editing process of the music made during the film post production rather than a longer version written by Shore of the CD track. If it's indeed the case, it's natural that's this version is not included in the new edition of the CD (although they could have added it as a bonus track despite its "artificial" structure).

FYI: Howard Shore's "Suite from Ed Wood" (2000) which is available on thereminist Lydia Kavina's album "Spellbound!" has a (GORGEOUS) recording of the complete (or expanded, or revised) version of "This is the One." On the CD there is a video about recording this piece - Shore is seen in the recording booth, and when "This is the One" starts playing he has tears in his eyes... quite moving.
