Hate to sound greedy, but d'ya think there's any chance of Mr. Sikoryak giving us blow-ups of all the album covers?

Tremendous release!

I am dumbfounded at how all these soundtrack labels continue to cater to the wishes of
a SINGLE SOUNDTRACK FAN:
Ron Pulliam

just because they know he will automatically purchase anything they put out is no reason to ignore the rest of us.

Whadya hafta say about that VS< FSM> LLL...?

huh
huh?
bruce

ps may you enjoy countless nights of musical pleasure , Ron smile

did the film explicitly state that ET was a hooker?
or was it still a time of censorship where you had to "infer" it like in FROM HERE TO ETERNITY & BREAKFAST AT TIFFANY'S?

Bruce, does your father know you're using his screen name?

I believe there was money left on a nightstand in some scene or other.

It seemed rather blatant.

She didn't have a pimp or anything, and there wasn't a telephone conversation during which a deal was struck, if that's what you're wondering.

It was as blatant as a couple entering a room and falling into each other's arms as the scene fades, followed by a morning scene with the man or woman or both smoking a cigarette and looking extremely satisfied, even if tired.

So before I hit the OMG MUST ORDER NOW button over at SAE, is there a second one coming from FSM or is that it for now?

Next album (2CD Golden Age) in 2-3 weeks. Maybe mid-August.

A surefire way for an actress to get an Oscar back then was to play a "Woman of the Night". Ask Donna Reed or Shirley Jones.

So was Somebody Up There Likes Me given a large bit of "stereo sweetener"? It kinda sounds like it's both mono and stereo at the same time (and the wave forms are not equal).

But otherwise, wow, this looks like a great box-o-melodic-music.

When will the notes be up (or at least linked to)?

The clips are hot, but not as hot as my fingers on the keyboard ordering this thing! Wonderful surprise, thank you Lukas and company!

Notes for the other titles should be available within a couple of days.

Oh, you boys have such dirty minds!

Elizabeth and her "friend" just had a nice drink and a chat and watched a little TV together, and that money was left to pay the phone bill which was due. After all, the movie IS called BUtterfield-8! smile

Incidentally, does anyone remember the grandmotherly Italian lady who used to turn up on the talk shows in the '60s who was the last remaining member of a state censor board in the US? I believe she was from Kentucky or Virginia or somewhere. She would talk about not being able to define pornography, but she knew it when she saw it. And the things she SAW!!! She would joke about it, but you just knew that she had seen so much (in her mind) that she had gone over to the dark side. She was ubiquitous on the airwaves for awhile and you sensed that she was the last of a dying breed---at least officially. Wish I could remember her name.

THAT'S HER!!!!

Maryland.....I should have remembered!

LOL.

She was a talk show regular.

1960.....then she might well have passed judgment on Elizabeth in BUtterfield-8.

Mary Avara certainly would have KNOWN what that money on the nightstand meant---at least in Maryland!!! smile

Thanks, Ron.

Wouldn't it be great if it's whatever is salvagable from the scores of Herbert Stothart? I would love to have something from THE HUMAN COMEDY.

I would buy any one of these sets IF the music were in stereo. And let's not forget my request for a Tennessee Williams boxset.

I have a huge problem with monaural CD sound. Monaural sounds flat. I can't hear individual instruments in the orchestration very clearly. And it makes the music boring. Certainly after you have heard a re-recording in stereo sound, it is like bringing color to the screen. Granted, it is better to have monaural sound than no music at all, especially for completists and collectors, but for sheer listening for entertainment, I turn to my 4000 stereo CDs.

Can I assume you rushed to place your order for this latest Kaper collection, considering that 85% of it is in stereo? smile
