Sorry Thor, but Alien 3 NEEDS an expansion. Some nice cues are missing from the album. Also, some of my favorite parts are not the 'film versions' on the album. What I'm trying to say is, it sounds as if instruments are missing. For instance, take the scene in which Ripley pours molten lead on the Alien. The slow motion shot where she swings on the chains to the platform - the music has such an epic quality to it and it's practically castrated on the MCA release. I would love to see it remastered as well, however I'm told the condition of the masters are in such poor quality it can't be released. Oddly enough, some cues that were unreleased, but in releasable quality are apparently too expensive too license. If someone has a good source of a complete Alien 3, come forward now! On ALIEN 3 - I think the track you're refering to was created editorally for the film (that music is actually tracked from the Adagio track). Also that tuba(?) effect when the water reaches the alien is apparently tracked over the music. But, you may be happy to know that in another thread related to the ISO scores in this forum the guy who worked on these ISO scores clarified that the ALIEN 3 iso score is from the already edited version of the music (film versions, including some edits and tracking) but before the volume changes were applied to fit the dialogues. The ALIEN 3 album is fantastic, but I'm looking forward for the "preparing the trap" music and the music for the EEV scan scene. Back to this ALIEN RESURRECTION release it is a score that is much better in expanded form. The album really misses some of the best parts, specially from the final part of the movie! I remember listening to the album before the film opened in theaters and being disapointed by it and then, when I saw the film I was surprised by how well the music worked and by how much great music was missing from the album. I'm really happy with this expansion!

have anyone heard ALIEN R or received it ? I got it today. Listening to it now. It sounds good. I've never really gotten into this film, but maybe that'll change when the blu-ray is out.

Got mine also. And it is much better in this release than on the original album. The previously unreleased tracks ad much more sense to the theme and variations approach adopted by Frizzell for this score. New tracks like "Foot Massage-Fast Learner" and "Elgyn's Death" are great, but the highlights are the tracks for the finale, the previously unreleased portion of "Birth of the Newborn", "Call Meets the Newborn" (my favourite track of the entire soundtrack), the "Finale" (for sure the track more missed when the original album was released) and the End Titles march. Really hope this one is selling well. If I had to recommend an alternate "album arrangement" I'd ommit some of the suspense - short tracks from the begining of the movie, just to get faster to the fantastic final portion of this score, in fact I've programmed it for my IPod as follows: CD1(1), CD1(3), CD1 (6), CD1(8), CD1(9), CD2(15) I prefer this edited version of the Aliens Escape - removing some of the start-stop structure of the original track to result in more full action flow, CD1(12), CD1(14), CD1(16), CD1(17), CD1(18), CD1(19), CD1(21), CD1(22), CD2(1), CD2(2), CD2(3), CD2(4).

Anyone have a hi-rez version of the LLL cover art? If you're able to post it here or a link to it, that'd be great.

Thanks, Urs. I had been looking at a user thread that looked like the announcement but wasn't the actual announcement and didn't have the artwork.
