That last thing I consider in a day- any day, are samples. for an upcoming release. Pure CaCa, this peculiar gripe.

Speaking of "anal" you both can kiss my ass too. Seriously. I already made my apologies to Neil. I don't know why you keep trolling. I'll just add 2 more to the already blocked Mr. Johnson. J Lucky me! I'll be watching! Will you?

Oh my god -- it is here. Ordered, of course. One of the most beautiful scores I could ever hope to hear. And now available in this form...totally unbelievable. First, thank you Mr. Morricone for creating such a beautiful masterpiece, and thank you, Mr. Kendall for bringing this score to us in this amazing crown jewel package.

I've received my copy of this glorious score. I'll have to wait until this evening to start listening. I was able to briefly sample at work. Just beautiful. Thanks again to one and all. I hope someone with more expertise than mine will post an analysis of all of the music on this 2 disc set. It's a little overwhelming to digest all at once. P.S. I haven't read the liner notes yet -- I'm sure they are the usually thorough FSM analysis! Didn't want to imply that FSM hadn't provided enough info -- but I'm honestly curious about everyone's response to the additional music, etc.

I just got around to ordering this last night. Many of the samples put it squarely up my alley, since I've been trying to listen to more contemplative, self-consciously "lovely" music lately.

Received mine today (and my word, what times we live in! The unused Barry score to GOLDEN CHILD arrived in the same package!), and, having listened to Disc 1, I can only say: 1) What sheer bliss to hear the original soundtrack album again, complete with Chicago furnace sound effects, Linda Manz narration, rambunctious Doug Kershaw material, the wonderful crickets at the end, all in amazing, simply amazing refurbed sound! 2) And then, the music from the film left off the original LP, music of exquisite beauty, such elegant, heartfelt simplicity, carrying such an emotional wallop! This is my favorite Morricone score, and one of my very favorite scores of all time (and the film, too, my all-time favorite). And to think I haven't even sampled the second disc yet. Wow. The times we live in!

I hope this doesn't sound too pretentious -- but I am treating this release like a fine, rare wine. I've listened to the first disc twice. And am now trying to digest how utterly beautiful it is. The second disc will wait for another week or so. I just want to savor this set -- spend time with it and let it sink in. It's that good, in my opinion.
