For some reason, most people tend to miss that the FREUD track "The First Step" was also used in ALIEN (it fits between the tracks "It's a Droid" and "Parker's Death"). In terms of "Desperate Case" being an alternate take from what is used in the film, I'll take your word for it that that's the case, but I would argue that only the most anal retentive listener would be able to pick up anything that betrays that. The Blu ray only has 2 isolated score tracks: 1) Final Theatrical Isolated Score by Jerry Goldsmith 2) Composer's Original Isolated Score by Jerry Goldsmith The original DVD release had 3 tracks if I recall. The 3rd one was: Alternate Music & Production Sound audio track. I couldnt find the Freud and Hanson pieces on these 2 isolated score tracks or am I looking in the wrong place? The original DVD has First "Isolated music score by Jerry Goldsmith, presented for the first time in its original unaltered form, including previously unreleased music" Second "Isolated alternate music and production audio track, reflecting music changes made in post production and raw audio from the set, including alternate dialogue" Audio tracks 5 and 6, respectively.
