Might be european release with the US still getting one on Watertower... but interesting that there is several albums already available to pre-order that get released in February or even March and yet... there is still no word about BIG YES or UNBROKEN, which should be still out by the end of the year - and also probably on the same bigger labels like Sony...

Either way... great find and pre-ordering right now!

I hope Giacchino finally incorporates a significant (or even quasi-significant will do!) measure of synths with Jupiter Ascending given the nature of the film, although I know that's not his style. Still hoping though. I think he could do something really special and unique with electronics mingled with his wonderful orchestral compositions on a big-screen canvas.

Looks not uninteresting to me.

Although Channing Tatum with elf ears and full makeup is... involuntarily funny, IMO.

I hope it´s only the score and not the "Guardians of the Galaxy"-model: score and pop compilation.

Cool news - I hope Giacchino comes up with a winner for "Shut Up Meg: The Movie"!

Oh. MAN. I am so hoping it isn't a typo, and that both CDs are for music and not any 'bonus content'. A retail 2-disc release of Giacchino's music would be WONDERFUL for me. And I'm still pumped to hear what he's cooked up for this movie, no matter how the film itself it.

This is whole program "The Score" on Classical KING FM 98.1. In the beginning you can hear cue from Jupiter Ascending called "Jupiter Ascending: Suite", but i think this is just one segment from this piece, enjoy smile

Thanks also for posting this! It sounds great, reminds me a bit of the elegiac pieces in MEDAL OF HONOR: FRONTLINE.

Actually I thought the Gaurdians model was a smart marketing move. The soundtrack, score included, gets good exposure and who knows, one or two people might pop the score disc in. Reasonably priced. A win win.

Hearing that interview, I'm so excited for this now. He scored the film before seeing the picture, and then they edited the picture to the score, so the score should have tons of musical integrity and not suffer from mickey-mousing or extensive cuts to the film.

As for the movie. I don't know. It's being released in early February? What does that tell you? From the trailer it looks visually stunning. Then again anybody with a truckload of money and enough computers can make something look visually stunning. I smell another Pacific Rim here.

It's really interesting in that it doesn't sound much like his modern "Lost" style at all. Sounds more like his very early video game works, which were also conceived like concert music.

This suite sounds decent; I do hope the overall score is more JOHN CARTER than STAR TREK though, as I regard the former to not only be this man's best overall work thus far, but one of most successful and satisfying sci-fi space opera scores to come out of a Hollywood film for a while.

I also love the "We'll fix it in post haste" theme from SUPER 8 and wish it had received far more variations, as the 'other' big emotional theme in that score left me kinda cold (as did the score as a whole, but that probably falls as much on the shoulders of Dan Wallin, whose mix is absurdly terrible, like an archival recording from the 50's).

Color me a cautious optimistic here!

I assume you're talking about the love theme - which appears in 13 tracks on the OST! That's not enough for you?

Check out my complete score analysis, which points out all 10 themes in the score and where to find them smile

Great work, thank you so much, Jason. SUPER 8 is a score which is not often discussed. I love it so your work is really appreciated!
