YOR's love hate relationship with Hans Zimmer's music is blossoming.

I have not heard a note from Zimmer's MoS, but I trust YOR that it sucks monkey bowls. YOR is honest guy.

Speaking of monkeys, I'd much rather have a legit CD of Zimmer's old Oscar-winner than two different deluxe versions of his new "Concerto for Drum Kit."

To me, YOR ist quite right: The new Superman could be much better with another score.

Zimmers music for Superman is just booring. You leave the cinema and after five minutes, you couldnt remember a single theme or even a note of the score.

Thats the reason I dont like Zimmer too, because he dissapoint me every time when I try to give his new scores a chance.

But that`s just a matter of taste, I think.

And as for negative comments on his review-if you stick your head over the parapet, you should be prepared to get shot.

Absolutely! Because this is war, after all, right?

No, not at all.

Heh. Whatever, mate. "Parapet" and "get shot" were YOUR choice of words, not mine.

I get a good laugh out of the folks that say they have YOR on their "ignore" list, yet still feel compelled to make comments REMINDING us that he's on their ignore lists! Too funny.

I can't remember who it was that said it, I think it was WilliamD... a while back he remarked that the refreshing thing about YOR is that he draws out the pseuds into revealing themselves (or something to that effect). And while that may be a bit strong, it's absolutely correct. When someone comes along here and expresses themselves differently (whether it's genuine or an affectation... it makes NO difference), the amount of intolerance and vitriol skyrockets to a comical degree. It so often doesn't even matter what his comment is as much as how he says it. Hysterical!

He states his opinion about music from the hip, and he has yet to take a shot at anyone here unless they shot first. That's just the way they swing in the future.

So join the new groove, all you Herberts! (Or don't... I don't care--it will still make me laugh.)

he expresses himself differently because he's an attention whore and a troll. Not just because of his trollish, moronic language and charade(3rd person!) but also because of creating useless attention seeking topics like this one when there's an official thread that every normal member uses.

The problem(s) with "Man Of Steel" score is/are
- generic, No depth or thematic development
- pastiche. Okay so you want to raise the heartbeats of the cinema viewers... insert taiko drums here and here and keep rhytm
- library of MV was used (have I not hear this before?)
- album representation is not a comfortable listen
- mixed very very very low emphasizing base elements

To be honest.... John Ottman's - Superman Returns had more to offer than 'Man of Steel.

No, YOR is not a troll. That he hates Zimmer's music and the RC stuff in general and is always eager to express it in his own way doesn't make him a troll.
And even if he did the same for the music of Williams or Bernstein or Herrmann, I wouldn't put him in my ignore list. I wouldn't put anyone for that matter. I ignore ignore lists - let all the flowers blossom!... cool

Well, my marshmallowy friend, there's a big difference between you and him. He would not take it upon himself to sneer at someone for what they like or dislike OR how they talk, without provocation.*
Whereas...
big grin

Long story short: the parameters for conduct on this board are well-established by its creators. One of its features is an "abuse" button. If you feel there's abuse going on, push it. Let our resident constable decide. Otherwise, lighten up and have a laugh.
C'mon, it's easy... wink

(* If you can point out an instance where he attacked first, show me and I'll recant.)

In all fairness to ppl who post they have Yor on ignore, it's hard not to respond when Yor's "quoted" posts are visible even to those that have him on ignore. Life would be so much better if ppl on ones ignore list cannot be seen at all. But I think that's a loop hole on every board.
