I would like to join your Get-Together too. It looks like the symposium will be quite different from the previous years. For those attending you should be advised that the symposium is aimed primarily at music students and not us "fanboys". But if you have the opportunity to get to Vienna in time it is an event that should not be missed. All the symposiums I attended have been highly informative and tremendously entertaining. In case you're interested the Austrian filmmuseum has a retrospective of Joe Dante during the time of the concert. Dante will be present and a Q&A session with him is scheduled after the performances of Gremlins (Oct. 2nd at 9 p.m.) and Small Soldiers (Oct. 3rd at 9 p.m). Unfortunately tickets can only be purchased in advance at the box office so there is a good chance that it made have sold out when you get to Vienna. It is located behind the opera in the Albertina building.

Add me to the list - I'll take a train so I can join in with the drinks. Will do. You mean the dinner, right, and not just the drinks after the concert? Sorry Thor, I missed that question. Yes, I'll join for both the dinner and the drinks. I see the Viennese on this board haven't suggested any restaurants yet, so I'd suggest Figlmüller http://www.figlmueller.at/en/welcome.html They do have a world-class schnitzel, I can confirm that. On the downside, in their Wollzeile restaurant they don't have any beers (just wines), and in their Bäckerstrasse restaurant they have only Goldfassl on tap (which I think isn't the best Austrian beer). BTW, the two restaurants are basically adjoining and right in the middle of Vienna, around the corner from the Stephansdom.

We're looking into a couple of alternatives that are even closer to the concert hall -- Gmoakeller (other side of the hall), Café Schwarzenberg (400 meters away), Salm Bräu (700 meters away).

Great!! First of all, I want to extend my biggest thanks to Thor for all his kind efforts with the organization of this meeting. Also, I would like to ask if we should do anything else than just show up at the mentioned time and place? Finally, a suggestion to anyone within the group that may be interested in a CD trade, please drop me a line, because I have a long list with original titles that I would be happy to bring. See you soon!

Thanks to Marian too, for doing the actual booking of the restaurant! I haven't planned anything else, as I assume most people want to spend the precious time they have exploring Vienna, but I do hope that some of us -- at least -- can have a couple of night caps after the concert. A local pub somewhere. More than a couple, I'd hope! Thanks for organising this, Thor. Looking forward to meeting everyone.
