A Sony portable CD Walkman A Technics hi-fi home system A Sony portable 'boom box'
I understand the bleeding of tracks into each other and 9 times outta 10, it's seamless and only presents problems when copying or separating tracks for edit purposes to a mp3 player or i-pod. There is deffo fall-out between the tracks mentioned on this CD, but based on what Quartet mention above, it seems like something that obviously doesn't show when the actual composer and engineer are preparing their CD's. The fact it's a recurring problem is worrisome!
In practical terms, if you load a piece of music into software like CD Wave Editor and place an index point it will automatically break that piece into two parts cut precisely at the index.
If you load those two tracks into Nero and select "zero" as the pause between tracks and also select gapless burn then it will burn the music seamlessly with the seamless index point.
If any of that Nero process goes wrong it'll force a break into the track that wasn't intended.
It feels like this is what's happening here. Mastering the music is evidentally okay. But whoever is taking care of that final stage is making a boo-boo of some sort.
