Every hospital has to have a tin voiced loud over assertive fat black woman at reception that don't take no shit from no one nor none and n'thin', complete with bobble head moves.
I don't know where they breed those land based sea cows but I would welcome the bombing that facility.

LOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

For another particularly bad variation on the "Sassy black woman"
see DARK ANGEL (which also made her a Lesbian!) She took "bobble HEAD TO A WHOLE NEW LEVEL!!!!!

The heavies of the baddie always seem to know what to do. The evil boss has captured someone & says to his henchmen something like: "take good care of him".

"Look after Mr. Bond. See that some harm comes to him."
—Drax, MOONRAKER

Or the boss makes a barely perceptible nod, and the heavies know whether to kill the target, capture him, follow him, etc. It was refreshing to see a Klingon gunner in THE SEARCH FOR SPOCK get vaporized for destroying a Federation ship, rather than disabling it.

I can grouch with the best of them. My friends know I'm merciless when it comes to movies and TV. I hate everything. However, it is more fun when discussing tropes is humorous:

When bad guys run right up to the hero to shoot him, just to be punched or disarmed. They usually run up to the hero yelling too. This more often happens if there's a few baddies on the one good guy. Just shoot from a safe distance.

Badies licking blood. If it's a bad chic she will lick the blood off of someones face. If it's a bad guy he licks the blood off of his knife. Are all bad guys vampires?

And do they not fear getting AIDS or some other blood-borne disease? Knowingly ingesting someone else's blood has to be THE least hygienic thing you can do.

I can't remember any blood licking scenes, oh there's one in The Last Valley 1971 where someone in battle licks his bloody knife after using it. There's a fair few blood brother scenes in westerns where an Indian & cowboy will cut their arms & hold them together, no to be recommended, but then with the blood running out of a wound, how much blood actually goes in from the other guy? None I'd think.

Heard it in some TV show recently (maybe Sleepy Hollow?)...every time I hear it now, I always strenuously flip the bird at the screen.

You can if you have open wounds in your mouth. First of all you don't always notice you have those since they are not always sensitive. Secondly since the situations people do that stupid stuff usually follows an act of violence, it's very likely that the person involved does have some opening to their blood circulation.

Either way it's just stupid, what's worse, it's kitsch so knock it off!

The baddie has the goodie dead to rights and covered by a gun, then either new people come into the scene or a noise occurs distracting them, and rather than shoot the goodie, they immediately seem to forget they're their and run for cover and shoot at the new threat. It'd take less than a half second to to kill the guy and turn. So just do it, bad guy.

Don't kill the opponent because "I want to savor this moment", then....... well you all know the rest.

This is definitely true. Adam Scott's Ben Wyatt from Parks and Recreation is one of the rare exceptions to this.

Also Halle Berry in Boomerang and Zoe Saldanna in The Terminal admit to being Trekkies (even if Saldanna totally messes up the Vulcan finger salute in the latter...funny she actually went on to appear in Trek).

See also Ariana Grande's character in the Nickelodeon caper movie Swindle - she's something of a geek but she keeps it secret (because at her last school it didn't give her a quiet life).

...when a woman takes self-defense classes because of a stalker, then ends up beating the hell out of a guy "following" her in a deserted parking garage, only to discover that he's just some innocent bystander? And usually she only tosses off a half-hearted "Sorry...!" over her shoulder as she walks away? Hello, assault charges, anyone? Would people think this bit were funny if the genders were reversed? Saw this one on an episode of Jessica Jones yesterday, and it always annoys me.

Me too.

Funny how the "heroes"/"heroines" never get charged for the blatantly illegal things they do....

A good guy just can't shoot an unarmed baddie, or shoot him in the back (mostly westerns, but other action films as well), the bad guy can be totally evil & ready to kill fifty more people, but as long as he hasn't got a gun in his hand or has his back to the hero, he's safe. It must be some old film lore. Anyway, the script gets him killed, he goes for his gun allowing the hero to shoot him.

I may have posted this before...but 68 pages to go through...
