Luther
Four nights of the cop drama - 3 nights of pretty good stuff followed by utter contrived bollocks and cliched ending in the final episode.

StAr Trek DISMALLY
1/10.

If you like INTO DARKNESS you may enjoy this garbage.
More fight scenes than a Bad Kung Fu flick fron the Seventies... Poorly staged .

ELEMENTARY
Final season not the strongest by any means.

Well i'm not watching any old tv series but at the moment my current series I am following are:
Criminal Minds
Criminal Minds Suspect Behavior
Bones
House
I can't wait for the following Demenagement particulier shows to start up again:
Dexter
True Blood
BBC Merlin (I watch it when it airs in England not the re-broadcasts here in the US)

So far Criminal Minds Suspect Behavior has lived up to the quality of the original and I like the cast very much.

Wonderful release, looking forward to ordering! It's the only item I want from the Black Friday batch, and I'm delighted to be able to get it! Well done La La Land!
Thanks!

MANIAC on Netflix.

It's great. I'm enjoying it a lot more than i expected. The actors are very good and do well to make you care about their characters, and the story is genuinely interesting with lots of nice little alternate reality touches and ideas (mostly tech and ad based). But it's the set design, costume design and cinematography that make almost every frame a treat for me. It looks great and is really well directed! The music is also very good and hits the tone perfectly. My friend said the music reminded her of LEGION tv series and i can sort of hear it, it's certainly as effective. I'm going to buy it, for sure.

Give Maniac a go, i say!

CONVERSATIONS WITH A KILLER: THE TED BUNDY TAPES

I'd heard of him, of course, but didn't realise how little i knew of his actual case.

This 4-part series was very good, thankfully not dwelling too much on the horrific details of each murder (though that did sort of humanise him a bit more and did leave some questions unanswered) but more about how the police came to realise there was a serial killer and how they tracked him down and how his perceived persona helped keep him free.

There's lots of interesting footage and audio from the times of the crimes mixed with current interviews. Unbelievably, Bundy's female lawyer seems quite bitter he was convicted, saying their was no real evidence and Bundy was clearly not mentally fit to stand trial.

I'm not really into real-life crime stuff, i find it too depressing, but this was fascinating and worth a watch.

STAR TREK VOYAGER

I'm fairly enjoying it. I like the longer form storylines and some of the villains like the body-harvesting aliens are terrifying and a great idea. It started off very slowly, and i'm not a fan of Kate Mulgrew and her sad-eyed, raspy whispering acting style, and some of the characters are a little bland but it's not a bad watch, and i'm not even at Jeri Ryan's silver bodystocking yet.

Watching Season 3 of True Detective on HBO. So far, it is interesting.

Season 2 of Counterpart is on. It is mind-boggling. I like it but am often confused by the narrative.

Fox network just started the series The Passage. I loved all three epic novels that began with The Passage. I'm sorry that this network picked up the novels as I hate watching 6 minutes of the story and then 4 minutes of advertisement. Wish this had gone to HBO, Showtime or streaming networks. Not sure I'll stick with it.

Finished season 2 of The Handmaid's Tale. Good but not as good as season 1. Too much filler.

Yes i too am watching true detective
I enjoyed the first 2. Espec 2nd series
Both got better after slowish start so im hoping it improves.
The only thing i find annoying is the flitting from time gaps - they show the investigation at the time of the crime, then they show the detective being questioned afterwards and then they show him in recent times recounting it all to an interviewer - i just wish theyd show it in order.

I agree with you, Bill. There are 3 different time shifts in the current True Detective, and at times they confuse me a bit unless the one detective is really old with gray hair. I think there are reasons for time shifts and flashbacks that have not been revealed to us yet. Maybe.

Series 1 was the drawling, indeciperable mcgonaghie and Woody harrelson chasing vince vaughn.
Series 2 had colin farrell and the great female cop (Rachel mcadams)

I didnt even realise Stephen Dorff was in this one.

I've just finished American Horror Story: Apocalypse, I recorded it late last year. I did enjoyed it, but it's not about what you think it's about. It starts off about what happens in a very strange bunker after a nuclear war has wiped out most of civilization, but then it totally changes, but it's clever & witty. So I've seen season one & the latest season, I'll have to watch some of the seasons in between.

Life is too short to watch stuff that irritates.
Yet i really loved hotel and roanoke.

I quest to see Tigtone! QUEST, I TELL YOU!

The Good Place has quickly become one of my all time favorite TV shows ever. It moves and evolves at a surprising speed and every episode ending feels like a season cliffhanger. Janet is my constant.

Manifest tries. Really hard. That's probably why I'm still watching (well, that and it has good ratings, so the spectre of cancellation is far removed... COUGHTimelessCOUGH frown). The kid in it is the best kid actor I've seen in a decade.

I'm both perplexed and pleased as punch to see You're the Worst return. Last season was the perfect capper, but oh well, bring on more of Shi'y Jimmy!

Also getting into My Hero Academia, a Harry Potter for superheroes. I see the appeal.

That nuclear attack is right up there with Terminator 2's sequence, but when the majority of the season dropkicked the "chosen" survivors' arc and went into flashback mode simply to justify the bookends, that's when it lost me a little. Cult remains my favorite season (though I've only seen Cult and Apocalypse).

TIN STAR is a disappointment after a couple of episodes. It seems like it's trying too hard to be edgy and the dialogue is often so heavily bang on the nose it'd give you a nosebleed.

Infuriatingly, it's already used stupid tropes like family members not telling each other information about odd things they've found, despite them being hunted by killers; someone under police protection escaping the room they're being held under guard in; that idiot then running into a forest at night to locate the source of a sound; that dunce then flagging down a car and being picked up by the villain (a well-timed, over-elaborate plan that only works on TV if you don't think about it).

Tim Roth makes it watchable. He's excellent. His deadpan delivery really works. The small town Alberta setting is interesting and different, and the overall story seems like it could go somewhere, so i'll stick with it.

THE GOOD PLACE season 3. Not as good as the previous two seasons but still enjoyable fun and an easy watch.

STAR TREK VOYAGER I've actually fairly enjoyed it for the most part. I prefer much of it to TNG.

Xebec i got tired of tin star s1.
It looked like it might be going somewhere - a kind of man on fire thing where Roth gets revenge.
But it floundered and dragged and got silly - daughter getting feelings for bloke who shot her kid brother - it was utter bollocks.

So i didnt bother with s2. It even looked shit in the repeated endless adverts!! Now i wont go anywhere near it after your description.

    POIROT
Surprisingly classy production from cheapskate ITV!
    Mysteries are clever and guessable.
The lead isn't the most engaging character and his aide is a dimwit and a bigot.

    Worth seeing.
    Brm
