WOW! this thread is neck-in-neck with RIO CONCHOS, closing in on 30,000 views!!!! Even though I am a MAJOR lover of BUFFY (owner of s.1-3 on dvd) I didn't realize there was so much pent up demand for score releases! brm I also own the previously released score cd. Brm

I tried to do something. I went to Whedonesque, but for unspecified reasons, they closed the site and it's archive news now. I also thought about a BtVS message board, but I was only a member of one and it has long since shut.

I don't either. They could have handed it over to somebody else. I've seen sites change hands before.

What's the obsession about a soundtrack selling out as soon as possible? Let people find it and have the time span enough to get the money to buy it. It's been a few days only since release day, not even, gosh, weeks! You'e right. I think generally, it's just the fear of this not selling well enough to warrant additional releases for both Buffy and Angel. Which is obviously 1.) way too premature 2.) a little silly 3.) and unnecessary since there is no guarantee for more. But yet it's 4.) kind of charming in a crazy fanboy/girl kind of way. However, it still cannot hurt to promote the set everywhere, as I am pretty sure there are plenty of people who haven't found out about it, especially now that Whedonesque is done, it's kind of hard to find a good overview of Buffy-related news on the web. If you're not following score websites, it will pass you by, especially in an era where you find all the stuff you want digitally on iTunes or Amazon. When I buy a score release, I usually buy it on iTunes, which I check once a week for new score releases. A CD release like this I really would have overlooked if I had not coincidentally heard about it a few months ago. As expected, my set didn't arrive this week. Too bad, I was really looking forward to enjoy a nice relaxed weekend at home, listening to it. It's kind of ironic though that it took two days from the US to Europe, but thrice as much (or more?) to be shipped within one country. It's also ridiculous that I am so impatient, but it means LLR must have done a great job, since I am usually a little bit more chill with things I have ordered. But this I am utterly obsessed with.

Speaking of BtVS, the Whedon comics are ending. Not by choice. Season 12 (continuing from the TV series). Following the world-altering finale of Season 11, Buffy and the Scoobies have had a laid-back year in the saving-the-world department. But as they've learned over their years of fighting the forces of darkness and thwarting many an apocalypse, nothing stays quiet for long. When Dawn and Xander's housewarming party is crashed by some familiar faces with news of an amassing force that must be reckoned with—Wolfram & Hart, a legion of demons, and Harth, a vampire from the future—Buffy finds herself in a time warp that could alter the fate of the world and could spell the end for Buffy, her friends, and the Slayers, forever. This action-packed miniseries reunites the Buffyverse with the return of Angel, Faith, Illyria, and Fray, the Slayer from the future!

A Fray TV movie scored by Beck (or Wanker or Duncan) would be nice.

I always consider picking up the comics again and some of the stuff I read on Wikipedia about the future comic seasons sounded interesting, but then I am reminded of all the crappy stuff (skinless Waren still being alive and dating Amy, Angel returning as a villain and killing Giles, Giles being resurrected as a kid, Xander and Dawn dating, a male slayer, Angel and Buffy fucking in the sky and creating a new universe, Spike actually becoming Buffy's longterm boyfriend) and I change my mind. The comic is just too off the rails and has really failed to translate what made Buffy so special into comics.. They really screwed up what could have been a really fun comic series. I do like some of the art though. The cover art for season 12 looks really nice. A Fray movie would be a fun way to reboot this universe in an inventive way, since it would add future sci-fi to the hybrid mix of genres that Buffy was. The fun thing about Fray would also be that you don't really need any knowledge of the Buffy series and anyone could watch it. People could watch it without even knowing that it is connected to Buffy. Well, we'll see if Disney has any plans to get this franchise going again after FOX let it just rot in its coffin. So surprised they never wanted to keep this franchise alive after Angel ended, it made them lots of money, didn't it? Was the rights situation with the Kuzuis so complicated? They could have easily started working on a new Buffyverse series with a writer from the original series and Joss's blessings (which would have been a different thing as opposed to what the Kuzuis were planning for a while). I'd still watch the animated series if they were to do it.
