Those box office figures are just for America.
Avatar and Titanic still rule the World box office, although the 'adjusted for inflation' chart is the real one and nothing's gonna beat Gone With The Wind (although it had about 40 years worth of re-release time to wrack up the moolah).

Seeing as a good chunk of Infinity War will take place in Wakanda it would be cool of Silvestri used some of Panthers themes. Great score and gets better the more you listen to it.

Amazon.ca has a listing for the score on vinyl dropping the same day as the Infinity War score (which is listed as a CD).

TITANIC was the number one movie for 14 weeks in a row.
Nothing will ever top that.
TITANIC is #!.

I love the fact that WW and BP both DOUBLED the grosses of BVS and JL!
Shows fans have some discretion!

I may break my superhero 'boycott' when this comes out on dvd.
But, if it turns out to be just another formulaic POS, I quit. For good!!!!

Just saw this in the theater (it’s still playing)! And thought the movie and score were excellent. I think this score is easily one of the top five Marvel film soundtracks. The mix of brass and African rhythms were spot on. And the bad guy theme was really fun. It reminded me of Henry Jackman’s Magneto theme. Not in sound, but how both were simply cool lines of music. Göransson knocked this one out to the park.

Any chance this will come out on cd? Maybe Intrada could rescue this and Guardians of the Galaxy 2 from download purgatory. Fingers crossed it will see the light of day on compact disc :-)

And taste. I believe both Civil War and Winter Soldier beat out those last two in a big way as well. Deservedly so.

Though I'm feeling a bit less vehement about Justice League (not exactly the Avengers, or even X-men Apocalypse)...I thought it was a decent movie, not as bad as Green Lantern. I expected worse.

Wonder Woman 6/10
Justice League 7/10
Green Lantern 5/10
Civil War 10
Winter Soldier 10
B vs S 5/10
Thor Ragnarok 9/10

I still need to see Black Panther and Infinity War.

True, Black Panther is #30 on the adjusted for inflation chart.

Indeed, Gone with the wind, Star Wars, The Sound of Music (the only one without a re-release), E.T. and Titanic are a very long shot here... (and Avatar is #15)

Anyone else hearing A-Ha's "Take on me" in the Wakanda main fanfare theme ?

I can't take it out of my head...

Great little video breaking down the thematic construction of Göransson's incredible Black Panther score. Thought this would be just the thing to bring the discussion of this excellent 2018 score back to the top.

This is one of the best scores of Marvel's pantheon, so of course it doesn't get a CD. Using a trap rhythm for Kilmonger was a stroke of genius, especially for those who hate trap rap (now you get to hate or feel conflicted with the villain even more). Wasn't that Kendrick Lamar's contribution?

Given how long the score is, perhaps they didn't want to invest in a 2-disc set?

If only Disney could broker such a deal with Intrada, rather than allowing for single disc releases. Regarding TRON Legacy and First Avenger, I already see what Disney does under a rushed schedule.

It certainly is a brilliant score. The Killmonger-theme was all Göransson, by the way. He talked about it here: https://www.bmi.com/news/entry/catching-up-with-black-panther-composer-ludwig-goeransson

'I had to think about the orchestra in a different way. The different instruments in an orchestra – I thought about that more in a rhythmical kind of way and how would the strings fuse if I wrote the string part for a Sabar drum. Being able to infuse the orchestra into African music, instead of putting African music into an orchestra. Another big element of the score is the modern production, which is basically Killmonger’s [played by Michael B. Jordan] character. He has a more modern production sound to him. So for that I brought in modern 808s and more a trap beat vibe to traditional African rhythms.'

No sign of an FYC CD for Black Panther yet but it seems like they are mailing out FYC Vinyl records. Just not accompanied by a record player like Star Trek Discovery recently.

Thanks Adam, I wasn't searching completely listings. Happy to see that there is a CD out there, seems two were sold for Best Offer price although they were listed at $90USD. None up for sale right now - this might turn into a No Time for Caution Interstellar situation this year.

I will hold off for now.
