Thanks for posting the tracklist to make this release into the LP presentation. I haven't gotten to listen to my copy yet but if I feel like Thor on this issue, I have an easy way to re-organize the material. I hope everyone realizes that Mr. Marshall posted a hypothetical LP program—this score never had an LP! LUkas

I'd just like to keep this thread near the top of the page, although I don't have time to post anything thoughtful. Must unscramble my brain and attempt to write something coherent. I'll just say for the moment that this is a SUPERB listen!

I wonder how this title is selling? I absolutely treasure this one...Lukas-you knocked it out of the ballpark with this release.

Fantasy? it was once, but now it is a glorious reality! BTW the 'album" version is also the sequence i use to program the FSM disc. It retains all the good stuff, while eliminating the filler(the 'trudging' music etc.) It makes for a maximum listening 'sperience. enjoY!

Has anyone notice how particulary good this recording sounds? I played it in the car again this afternoon and I was getting jiggy with it. Definitely one of the best releases of the year.

Yes, it's got great sound, hasn't it? The added bonus is that it's got great music too! I never get tired of this great release. There's more than a touch of Bernard Herrmann in there (the lumbering "Gort-like" passages, the low repeating figures, the "unfinished" final note on some tracks), but it really is a hugely varied and enjoyable score. I'd put it on a par with something like Russ Garcia's THE TIME MACHINE, not because they sound alike, but just because they are both so imaginative and captivating. And the bagpipe bonus tracks are amongst the funniest things in my collection!
