Wow! Elfman seems to have done the trick. Only a few seats in the center section left.
I would probably go for the side seats myself, where you can get as close as the 4th row!

BTW I am thinking of doing a GSPO tribute party the friday night before May 10th if there is enough interest.

MATTHEW JOSEPH PEAK JOINS THE VARÈSE SARABANDE 35th ANNIVERSARY GALA!
No, not on stage ... our historic concert with the Golden State Pops Orchestra will now be preceded by a historic art exhibition!! Come early and enjoy the artwork of Matthew Joseph Peak, just down the street from the Warner Grand ... and meet the artist! Matthew Joseph Peak's work has graced so many of our very best recordings and been so important to them! Psycho, The 7th Voyage of Sinbad, Body Heart, The Day The Earth Stood Still, To Kill A Mockingbird, Citizen Kane, Vertigo and so many more! Also part of the exhibition will be original artwork by Matthew's legendary father, the great Bob Peak! Don't miss this amazing opportunity to see the paintings that are otherwise only viewable by private invitation! After the exhibition ... it's concert time! Get your tickets before they are gone! http://www.gspo.com/season.php

MATTHEW JOSEPH PEAK JOINS THE VARÈSE SARABANDE 35th ANNIVERSARY GALA!

Makes good cents. I always had the impression that Townson and Peak were a Mutual Admiration Society as any one who's ever stepped through the front door of Varese would have to admit. Peak's Varese work hangs all over the walls. Uh, awesome, but,

I've got the book he published anyway now and it's way too heavy to shlep around before the show for an autograph, or something, and besides, it already came with a thank you- in Joesph Peak's hand.

Someone else on the board said as much.

I'm thinking, Poster Art Prints. EEEK!

I think I might just drive down to old San Pedro early in the day and see if anything's happening. There's a New York style pizza joint on Gaffey and Ninth so it won't be a total wash, but to tell the truth, the Second Generation kids now running the place have gone totally Cali.

For those interested:

I've been telling everybody to grab those seats on the side or the back before they are gone but just now some cool seats in row J and K were returned or something.
You could sit on the aisle half way up! I'd take them.

there's still a number of seats in the front of the balcony (the loge) - my favorite spot.

The back section seems to be completely filled up there.

I finally convinced my boyfriend to head up with me to the concert so we will be there. A little late ordering so we got tickets way back at row R but it should still be fun. I'd like to get together with others who are up there before the concert or even earlier in the day to make a day of it.

Unfortunately I can't attend this concert. I bought 2+2 tickets for this way back when it was announced. This just keeps getting bigger and bigger with that awesome roster of composers! I'm envious of those who can attend.

Just wondering if anyone is interested in taking my tickets (Orchestra, row F center) for the same price?

I've not heard of this book. Can you tell me (us) what it is?

I have my tickets back in either R or Q. It's a fine vantage point to see the entire orchestra. You don't want to sit much further back only because there tends to be lobby noise that is distracting.

Now if the audience inside can just keep quiet so you can enjoy the music, we'll have a wonderful evening.

James

Whoa! I'm sorry BP2 can't make it but I hope someone takes advantage of this offer.
Taking a look at what is left for sale you wouldn't even get close to 9th row center now or later in the game!

A little bird told me a Miklos Rozsa piece THAT HAMILTON WOMAN has been added to this spectacular night with more to come. HAMILTON is early Rozsa, and as I said in the Rozsa thread, when I felt he was the most versatile. This is the prettiest love theme he ever wrote for me, and I include SPELLBOUND et al.

The seats are really dwindling but you could still get two on the fifth row albeit totally to the side.
Also plenty in that sweet center spot in the balcony.

I'll be doing other things the night before. I prefer to drive up the day of the concert.

Maybe we can meet-up there. Or we usually have dinner at the Whale N Ale.
