Ayla - Nirwana
Captain Hollywood Project - Love Is Not Sex
Enigma - MCMXC a.D. The Limited Edition
Enya - Paint The Sky With Stars: The Best Of

If you like techno, or just really good electronic music, check out Deadmau5.
So damn good....

Last week I went to CineFest in Syracuse and picked up 16mm prints of NAUGHTY MARIETTA, THE FURTHER PERILS OF LAUREL AND HARDY, and Orson Welles' MACBETH (the uncut version).

I listened to the clips, and must admit that it's not really my thing either. It's very American College Rock-type stuff with lots of fuzz guitar. But hey, sounds kinda professional and smooth, so they have my best of luck!

Yes, they play rather tight, the music is quite melodic and energetic, but the style of music will never be a particular favorite of mine, although they thankfully sounded less amateurish than I could have feared...

Her music resonates with me unlike nearly all new stuff. I discovered her before her first album (which went to #1 in the charts). She disappeared from the scene for a couple of years so I was really looking forward to the new album. I should post an entry in the "Upbeat music - downbeat lyrics" thread because that's her speciality.

JOHN NORUM...PLAY YARD BLUES. Another incredible rock album by John, this time with a touch of blues. I remember years ago when I heard Norum's solo album FACE THE TRUTH. I could not believe he was the same guy who played guitar for the band EUROPE on their FINAL COUNTDOWN album. John Norum is one of the all time greats to EVER play guitar. EUROPE is much better since they reformed and John is back with them. John Norum is the man !
With the state of film music these days (not too much new stuff or composers I really like) I am glad some of my old favorites in the rock music world are still at it and as good as ever.

Øystein Sevåg & Global House Band - The Red Album (CD)

More jazzy and less synthy than I like, but since I am a follower of Sevåg's music, I decided to buy it. "Waves Of Tomorrow" is in the style I like from Sevåg.
