First Blood (1982)

Rambo: There wouldn't be no trouble except for that king-shit cop. All I wanted was somethin' to eat, but the man kept pushin', sir.

Trautman: Well, you did some pushin' of your own, John.

Rambo: They drew first blood, not me!

Its a good one - there's a couple of better one's near the start.

Rambo. Is there a place I can eat around here.

Teasle. Yeah, there's a diner about 30 miles up the highway

Rambo. Is there a law against me eating around here.

Teasle. Yeah.. Me.

Rambo. Why you pushing me.

Teasle. What'd you say.

Rambo. I said why you pushing me, I haven't done any think to you.

Teasle. First off.. you don't ask the questions around here. I do, understand, second, we don't want guys like you in this town drifters.

I'm pretty sure I've already posted this one, but damn it, here it is again.

"Damn it, Bones, you're a doctor. You know that pain and guilt can't be taken away with a wave of a magic wand. They're the things we carry with us, the things that make us who we are. If we lose them, we lose ourselves. I don't want my pain taken away! I need my pain!"

Carolyn Jones to Kirk Douglas in The Last Train From Gun Hill, what a great western!

Didn't Kirk Douglas do a Burt Lancaster from VC in LTFGH? Could have been the other way round.

It was on TV last week, in SD but apart from looking a bit soft, it looked very nice, & I'd forgotten just what a great western it is.
