I think Patrick Doyle might come up with some interesting new ideas for Fivehouse. If he reverts back to his earlier style of course. wink

That's only part of the story, but you're DEAD ON regarding Patrick Doyle. From what I can decode from the email, Gene said that a new Fivehouse film is coming out with Lonsdale reprising his role for one last time due to his advancing age (He's 83). Only this time he's bringing in the Fivehouse five to help. Kenneth Brannagh is directing. Seems that, Disney bought the Fivehouse franchise and were "pleased" with the Brannagh and Doyle collaboration on the first THOR movie for MARVEL. No wonder why things have been quiet.

Imagine now, the possibility of Fivehouse joining THE AVENGERS with Iron Man and Captain America. No I can't either.

I'll be in Manhattan next week (March 29-Apr 3). Any good Fivehouse-related memorabilia shops I might want to check out? wink

If I had some more time I'd meet you at FORBIDDEN PLANET (I think it's still there) in the Village.

However, if you like rice pudding, there is a wonderful place called RICE TO RICHES on 37 Spring Street in the East Village. You may find alan getting the truly gaw jus FRENCH TOAST Rice Pudding.

Funny you should mention Forbidden Planet, as it's on my itinerary, as I want to pick up a Fivehouse keychain there. If you can make it, scratch out a few lines to me at pacwarbuff AT ay-oh-el dawt cawm.

If you like rice pudding, you have to hit RICE TO RICHES. It's not too far from there. On Spring street. The French Toast rice pudding would put a smile on old Fivehouse smile

Thanks for the recommendation, Max! As the nerd losers (don't) say around here: May the Fivehouse Be With You.

You and about a handful of other people actually got it and found it amusing.

More Fivehouse will certainly be coming your way. Whenever this thread is pulled back from the abyss it's like the Bat Signal summoning MaxB to return. Or should I say, the "F" signal.

I love this thread. big grin

Still NO official press release from Disney regarding the new Fivehouse Five film. However, I did pick this up from a Marvel blogger site:

POSSIBLE SPOILERS AHEAD!!!

MCU (Marvel Cinematic Fans) lament over the absence of a post credits teaser.
By LipShitz

Fans were left scratching their proverbial heads after the closing credits of AVENGERS: AGE OF ULTRON, when no post credits sequence accompanied the end of the feature. Director Joss Whedon had said months ago that there was not going to be a post credits segment, however those who were fortunate to see the initial test screenings claim to have seen a most interesting post credits teaser. What’s this, Spider-Man, you say? Well, uh, not exactly.

VelveetaHead and MonkFish both attended separate screenings back in March of this year and vividly recanted the post-credits roll. Here is a synopsis from MonkFish:

“It was pretty cool and odd at the same time. A knock on a stone cottage door started it all. The door opened to reveal a butler, who immediately recognizes the two individuals at the door. You don’t see them at first, but they are led through a narrow corridor to a kitchen area. As the butler enters the room facing us, we see Dr. Eric Selvig (Stellan Skaarsgard) and Captain America (Chris Evans) enter behind him. All three stop and the butler is waiting for a figure to acknowledge him. After being acknowledged, the butler leaves and Selvig begins to speak. He says something like, “…did you find it?” We see the curious figure’s hands finely grating some cheese near a cutting block filled with finely chopped vegetables. He says nothing at first. After a few moment’s pause, Cap then says, “..It’s very dangerous and we need to find it before it winds up in their hands. We appreciate your help, Inspector.” The old figure stops chopping and the camera moves away from his hands to reveal his face. The old man then turns to his assistant in the corner who is observing, then says to Cap, “..As my colleageue here Sgt. Gilberdyke will attest to, one must not combine a vintage Fontina with poached pears. The sweet and savory will leave an unpleasant taste in your mouth..” Then the old man raises his eyebrow and everything fades to black. There were about five people clapping after it was done in a theater that had about 300 people.

Both Velvettahead and MonkFish didn’t know these two characters, but it was clear to me that this was undoubtedly ALAN FIVEHOUSE and his trusty assistant. Admittedly, there would be a slim chance that they would know that this was the legendary Alan Fivehouse, as they weren’t born at the time of the last Michael Lonsdale appearance as Alan Fivehouse in the late 1990’s. However, other older attendees (RickShaw and SmallBall) confirmed that it was, in fact, Michael Lonsdale and Lee Evans reprising their iconic roles. It’s too bad nobody in the theater was old enough to remember Fivehouse, as it would have made the Fontina and poached pear reference more relevant.
Apparently, this teaser had been pulled after the test screenings due to a perplexity factor that the audience wasn’t connecting with. This was supposed to be Disney’s official way of making a press release, but now everything is cast in uncertainty. We can only hope that this is a true account, unlike the recent fake Spider-Man teaser that some fanboys had doctored and posted, claiming it was authentic. I’ll have more when we get it!

The ignorance of those "on-the-ball" nerds was amusing, seeing as how they got the proverbial rug pulled out from under them with that Fivehouse end credits sequence.

I've said it before: today's know-everything kids have absolutely NO reason not to be aware of all things Fivehouse. Back in the early '80s, I would have known everything about everything if only I had the internet.

You haven't lived until you've enjoyed some poached pears prepared to perfection in a light honey cinnamon glaze. Of course, there are many other garnishes as well. And Fivehouse, as always, is quite correct. Avoid combining with fontina. Makes the perfect after dinner light dessert and a great alternative to black coffee and grapefruit for breakfast.

I was going through one of my Fivehouse memorabilia boxes and found this panel of a comic strip from the 1980 Alan Fivehouse Annual, published in the UK. Of course, this being an annual, they get the colors and character "tone" (mostly) incorrect, but it is nevertheless nice to see Fivehouse in comic form, albeit in this weird Dracula crossover story.

Then that Alan Fivehouse/Frankenstein musical makes so much more sense now.
