Still.....you and I know that the cues from TORPEDO RUN will NEVER be released in the future---unless YOU might combine them with another WWII score from MGM on, perhaps, your Counterpoint label. Bronislau Kaper's delightful score for DON'T GO NEAR THE WATER (also starring Glenn Ford) or Stothart's THEY WERE EXPENDABLE for John Wayne, might be possibilities.

Nice suggestions! Especially the pairing with They Were Expendable. Could be a great album! smile

For those who missed out, just wait awhile until the excitement dies down. More likely than not, the last remaining copies were snatched up by speculators and they'll make appearances on Ebay at some point. I managed to get the MGM Soundtrack Treasury on Ebay for much less than the retail price, and I imagine the same thing will happen with the Miklós Rózsa Treasury.

I seriously doubt that. Getting a copy for less then retail while it is still in print was one thing. It's sold out now. Anyway, I just ordered it from Monsters in Motion, but I'm skeptical as to whether or not they have it. I ordered from them before and they've cancelled my order due to lack of stock.

I think this decision to cancel the last 500 copies stinks. I would have ordered this when SAE was offering the free copies of Lassie/TV Omnibus/Etc... but with 500 left I decided to wait. $180 is a lot of money, and I've got some bills coming due soon.

I have a feeling the crazy prices of the Herrmann box provoked a lot of speculators to pick this up. SAE seemed to be selling 2-3 copies a day for the past week (if their cart trick is acurate), and then the flood gates opened yesterday for some reason.

Anyways, I hope you guys who were able to get a order in with Monsters in Motion get your orders fullfilled. I have had orders for OOP titles ship from them in the past.

I would be very happy to see a digital release (iTunes) of all the scores from the Miklos Rozsa Treasury like what has been done with the Elmer Bernstein's Film Music Collection.

Then, those that missed out, those who will come to this music later, and those who would like to only pick up a few of the albums will all have a chance to hear wonderful music.

What is the possibility for digital release of these scores like "Madame Bovary", "King of Kings", "The Power", etc. from the Miklos Rozsa Treasury?

Damn, It sold out way to fast in the last few weeks.!

I was planning this for next month. Maybe if we can pursue Lukas to reconsider the remaining 500 sets!

Agreed! I thought I could make it till Friday's payday, but the last 30 or so flew! I should have known better, but oh well. I probably deserve it for putting the set off for so long.

Yes. One can only blame one's self.

"I should have known better, but oh well. I probably deserve it for putting the set off for so long."

Let this be a reminder to all. Words to remember. Words to TATOO on one's chest.

Some hard lessons learned here.

Once Lukas announced that the final 500 wouldn't be manufactured that was a clear signal that this one was going to sell out soon. If you really want something it's better to order sooner rather than later.

Having said that, I hope that those still really wanting one can pick up a copy at reasonable price.

Had Lukas NOT announced the low stock number; it probably would have been available. You can take a guess as to what may have happened. Now, If the wish lists were to rise significantly; it would be generous of SAE & Lukas to reconsider some 100 or so cd sets for repressing.

With nobody bothering to buy it because they thought there were another 500 to come. Lukas did the right thing. Some fans need to smarten up.

Why repress anymore? It has sat there for a long time and that is why they decided to do what they did. The only people that really bought them up in the end were speculators (look to eBay). There are a few here that waited and fell into the hurry up and buy before it is gone trap after Lukas made the announcement. Now, everyone wants it, so they are going to have to pay the price for waiting.

Personally I hope they do repress. I think a lot of people intended to get this and were just holding off. Hell, I only just ordered my copy of the Ron Jones box, even though I wanted it since it came out. Times are tough and people take longer to save up for things, even if they truly are going to get them. I don't know if there will be 500 more sales over the next couple years but I'm pretty sure there'd be 200 at least, and I think this one deserves to be available for a while, just like the Bernstein box (or Superman box).

I ordered from them early this morning (around 2am central time). I haven't received a notice that it's on backorder... yet.

That was after I ordered from Arksquare and they told me they didn't have it.

Good point about people saving up. I was going to pop for the Ron Jones box at years end, but then there was that Herrmann Box....

I mean, we can already see a good chunk of reliable customers on this board have missed out and still want to buy it, and they're just a small slice of the customer base.

If FSM prints the last 500 copies, there's no hurry anymore. The people that have waited 2-3 years to buy this, suddenly upset that they missed out, would STILL wait.
