This is big time news ! Long overdue for Body Heat to get a proper release, and FSM set the standard. Any John Barry release is always a must buy.

Thank goodness it wasn't King Kong (but then with only 250 releases why should they have done the same title twice? The Omega Man doesn't count).

Wow another cool release too!!! My UK friends are loving this. Real good score w Barry's classic jazz touch.

I certainly hope one of the other labels releases an expanded King Kong in the near future.

I've always quite enjoyed the Varese rerecording, but this release is exciting. I never thought we would see a complete release to be honest.

Well, I can not wait for Intrada to release CONAN. I was just surprised that with the number of FSM releases there are left, they release BODY HEAT? I figured their last releases would blow everyone out of the water!

They did. Body Heat is one of the best scores by one of the best composers, was a hitherto ultra-rarity that was oft-reported lost forever — and is now out more deluxe and complete than anyone imagined possible.

You can't tick many more boxes than that.

Cheers

Consider me blown away! Just curious, though, exactly how did all these people know this was coming?

I was aware that this one was coming, but I didn't know it was #248, I must say.

That said can you indicate whether The Ten Commandments will be one of the last 2 FSM titles?

Nope, sorry, I have no idea about that one. I sometimes — sometimes — find out about Barry stuff just due to the friends I keep (and I keep quiet if I do), but not always, not always reliably either — and I rarely find anything out about anyone else.

Other people here are much better connected than me.

Cheers

Wow, guess I am the only one to say this, but this is not a great score by Barry for me and the LP and previous CD (though it is not the right mix) are good enough for me to represent the score in my Barry section.

Well as in all releases, you either want it or you don't, & I fancy this (& that doesn't happen very often these days), where as I'd pass on The Ten Commandments, it would be a major release, but I've had the boot for ten years & find that I never listen to it, but it would be a HUGE release. Now I can listen to this & wonder what the next one will be (I'm sure The Ten Commandments if it's coming will be #250), & also wonder what label King Kong will be released on....& wonder at Ms. Turner's small sexy boobs (as were).

I dont care that much about demos, source cues, alternates... So, the second disc presentation consists of the same recording as the first disc but with less music (abour 12 min) and a different mix by mr Wallin, is that it? how "special" is that mix?

I'd agree if it wasn't for the fact that it's only another $5!
