We still have seats, but I can't stress enough, they WILL sell out friends. They always do and then I have to tell fellow fans SORRY. I hate saying that of course.

Still can't believe we've gotten the folks we have this year. WOW

Email me peter @fansoffilmmusic.com. Remove the SPACE in between the letter "r" in my name and the @ sign.

Be sure to get his The Ultimate Life soundtrack due out on Varese on September 10th and get it signed by Mark at this years event. So many great scores by him I can hardly think straight!

Welcome Mark!

Just booked a ticket! Cannot wait to come. This will be my first of these events and I have no idea what to expect except a lot of fun and meeting some great people, including whomever is reading this from our FSM board! By the way, who of you all is going to be coming?

Thanks for all you do DMD!

Would love to go this year, but I can't (I was there last year and it was awesome).

Still, how much does Christophe Beck look like Seth Rogen in that picture? It's uncanny.

UPDATE: All seats are now taken.

This e-mail was sent out a week or so ago to registered attendees of FFM 4. Anyone who has registered recently may not have gotten this invitation so I'm posting it here and elsewhere.

Greetings fellow Fans of Film Music 2013 Gathering attendees!

You are invited to join conductor, composer, arranger, record label A&R man\producer, band leader, lounge pianist, etc., Stu Phillips for a lunch in his honor on Saturday October 19th at 12:30 PM. This event is limited to 20 people in order to keep it intimate, hopefully allowing everyone at the table to hear Stu spin some tales from his long and varied career in the music business. Reservations for this event will be first come first served.

Although this is not an official event of The Fans of Film Music weekend, it is only open to confirmed attendees of FFM 4 as something of a bonus event and has been blessed by FFM event organizer Peter Hackman. Stu has always been very accessible to his fans and is very excited about the lunch. He has offered to sign anything you bring afterwards.

How to get your reservation: If you would like to come and are pretty certain you will be able to make it, send an e-mail to me at mwford at earthlink.net (replacing the at with @ and removing the spaces before and after it . Once the 20 person limit has been reached the names received after that will be put on a waiting list just in case someone cancels.

Venue details: The Smoke House in Burbank, across from Warner Bros. This is an old school restaurant that is perhaps a wee bit pricey for lunch, but sandwiches with a side can be had for around $13-$14. I wanted it to be at a fairly classy place since this is an event honoring Stu and worthy of something nice. John Morgan chose this place for a lunch last year and said it was once frequented by the likes of Max Steiner, as well as movie stars, producers, directors, crew, extras etc., working at Warner’s in the old days. You can find the menu, address and other info at their website: http://www.smokehouse1946.com/

Payment details: There is no charge for this event beyond you paying for your food, drinks and a requested $2 a person donation to pay for Stu's meal and drinks. Since the restaurant will not do separate bills for such a large group, I ask that you bring cash to pay for your part. It's just much easier than trying to use a mix of credit cards and cash when putting it all together. Please remember that your total will include the following: meal, tax, 18% gratuity and $2 "Stu surcharge". Also, this restaurant only provides valet parking, but does not charge for it. Save a couple of bucks for a tip though.

If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to ask me. Hope to see you there!

Mark Ford

Serious intent, hope all of you have a great time, I enjoyed the video of last year's event. As I said before the weather should be nicer in L.a, without the summer heat. Good time to have it.
