Blimey Mr Jim, it's been quite some years since I rocked up at Anfield.
I went to every home game (and a few aways) from around 1977 to 1987.
I slacked off when the prices shot through the roof and I started enjoyin watchin the games more in
the pub, drinkin beer with the lads (and seein so much more via telly than when I was actually
at the game).
I've become an armchair supporter in my latter years.

similar story. went as a kid a few times, then season ticket holder from 1979 to the 90s, including many years home and away. gave up when my season ticket went from 550 to 750 in two seasons. Couldnt justify that percentage of my take home pay for football.
That and the fact 30 years of watching shit - apart from 86 - took its toll on my tolerance.

This season not been.
Last season once.
Season before once.
Season before not at all. First year ive never been at all since about aged 17.
season before once.

basically a part time percy and i dont give a fuck who knows it.

Speaking of Liverpool and West Ham, when was the last time you all attended a match? We know big money man Tall Guy often goes to Leeds games, how about you gents with your teams?

Or to put it another way, I've been twice this season so far: I paid 12 quid to see them beat Accrington Stanley in the Crapital One Cup and went to the Fulham game the other week on a colleague's season tickets. I've not paid full price for a couple of years. Big money man indeed! £35 to watch that shower? I should cocoa.

there you are jim, you have your answer and once you hear from Thomas you have the full set.
i suspect cinemascope is like me, a football fan without a season ticket anywhere!

chelsea have despatched the team of grappling orcs, Stoke, 0-2.
Bardsley and Adam lucky to stay on pitch. Adam tried two elbows and missed both times! bt should have gone for intent.

The ref - as usual at stoke - let them get away with physical murder and at one point Chelsea broke and had numbers and the referee got in the way and blocked the move!!
stoke are thinking of signing him as a midfield spoiler!

I usually get to Anfield twice a season, with a local supporters club a few of my mates are in. I've been once this season and I think we're going again next March. We usually get tickets in the Paddock Enclosure of the Main Stand. Costs a bit more for me of course, having to make my way across the Irish Sea. I also go most weeks to see my local team Cliftonville playsmile

Very bright and articulate journeyman (in a non-pejorative way) footballer Clarke Carlisle is in hospital after being hit by a lorry on the A64 dual-carriageway near York. He played at Leeds and York at various times, and given the other clubs he graced as a reliable centre-back (Burnley, QPR, Preston, Watford, Luton and Northampton) you can't blame him for settling up here.

He did a good solid job for us and I was sorry when he moved on.

Best wishes to him and his family for a speedy recovery.

No inside info but I'd guess he was out jogging - 7.30am.

Since Stoke lost to Chelsea, there's no Who Dares Wins Award this week. Wah.

Thanks for the replies re: the last time you attended a match. I've only been to one, the England-Ecuador pre-World Cup friendly, which saw Raheem Sterling and Antonio Valencia sent off. Plus there were goals from Rooney and Lambert, not to mention Enner Valencia, so a good intro to the game. The next time I'm in Old Blighty, I will do my damnedest to attend a proper Premier League match.

given us lot dont go, its a miracle there arent any seats left!

not as easy as you might think.
After season ticket holders and then club members, hospitality, there often isnt much left for average joe punters.
general public get the remaining 8 tickets.
usually early rounds of carling cup are an option in octnber coz no1 wants to go.

When I was in Spain this past February, Real Madrid tickets were available, but not two seats together. Barca were away when I was there, so it was bad luck all around. The time I was in London, it was early August, so no BPL yet; the media were still blowing sunshine up the asses of the Three Nervous Kittens, who were under the cosh to beat lowly Hungary in what I believe was their first friendly since England's drastic exit vs. Germany in the Round of 16 in South Africa...remember that one, boys? wink

nice one john.

Not looking forward to Boxing day. Chelsea. id settle for 2-1 defeat but would be thrilled with a draw.

good news today - not losing Song to african nations.
They must have a good side if they can leave him out!

And hazard, their most creative player, is likely out.

Merry Christmas to all my fellow footy heads in this thread and to anyone casually strolling past. smile

Looks like West Ham have two games in three days; away vs. Chelsea Divers and home against Arsene-al. That's a tough stretch by any team's standards. I hope your boys are still among the top five after all the dust clears.

Liverpool are home to Swansea on Dec 29 and away to Sunderland on New Year's Day. For some reason, I think that second fixture could be quite difficult for the Reds.

good luck to the Hammers today, just hope we dont have our goal difference crushed in half in one match!
Traditionally we are awful on boxing day - usually they play not like a team that did light training and xmas dina with their family - more like one that had gone out on a 24 hr drunken bender and got dropped off at the stadium with their girlfriends lipstick all over their shirt with the buttons ripped.
Lets hope they are a bit more disciplined today and up for it.

No hazard, so that might help. ....maybe. They only have Oscar, Fabregas, schurrle, willian, costa, drogba. No problem!! ha ha.

i wont be watching - Ive got a tennis tournament.

Looks like we may get some snow by 5pm so hopefully i will be home and in the warm!!

whatever you lot are up to, enjoy your boxing day.

West Ham down 0-2 at Chelsea early into the second half. Goal-scoring-machine and "not-a-racist" John Terry scores for Chelsea, as does Diego Costa. West Ham, however, lead the yellow card contest 0-3. wink
