There were two scores, that's right and the second one is even better than this... but we'll just have to wait and see.. so far there is nothing listed anywhere besides this video that appeared on youtube a few hour ago...

On Facebook James had said it's two scores by the same composer. But I wonder what of the remaining Barry scores would be even better than Mr. Moses? Color me intrigued!

'The Tamarind Seed' is a possibility I would hope. Exciting news indeed. I thought Tadlow were mainly focusing on recording Goldsmith at the moment, but happily not. Looking forward to this, as it’s unlikely we will ever see the original tracks get a release. I think it was Stephen Woolston a while ago who suggested this one may be happening.

As much as I like Goldsmith, I am very happy that Tadlow is branching out to other composers. I would love to see Tadlow tackle Maurice Jarre's beautiful score to RESURRECTION.

Anyone who hasn't bought The Salamander is an idiot. smile

Well, I have bought THE SALAMANDER and other Tadlow/Prometheus re-recordings, and I will continue to do so. Wish more people would, so more of these recordings could be produced. :-)

I guess the equation for me goes something like this: '60s + John Barry = Auto-buy.

I was thinking along the lines of various Goldsmith re-recordings that have come through the joint talents of James Fitz, Nic Raine and the CPPO, it would be very interesting if we could get a John Williams related project to fruition.

Two of his finest Americana scores such as the complete versions THE REIVERS and THE COWBOYS would make for great album re-recordings. I'd also love the all non dialogue extended suite with the new material from the suite of THE REIVERS as well as the concert version of THE COWBOYS appended to each program.

And then there is the often requested Williams title: 'DRACULA' which James teased us about a year ago. I say if the opportunity arises then these would make for great and viable projects.

I'd rather get expanded original recordings for those scores presuming they survive. I believe MV said there were complications with The Reivers and that The Cowboys is controlled by Varese (let's hope they start doing Deluxe Editions of older scores again.) James Fitzpatrick himself has said that he was keen to do a complete Dracula but he heard tapes were found (these were later said by someone else in the biz to only be mono, so maybe there's still a good case for a new recording). What I really want is a complete new recording of my favorite Williams score, Jane Eyre from 1970. It is a glorious composition and it could really use expansion and better sound quality. For whatever reason however, James has said he has no interest in doing that one. I think that though the half hour album is not the complete score (I think there is almost 20 min. missing) he believes it is a more than satisfactory representation.

I guess I'm actually with Thor on this one: assuming tapes no longer exist, I'd ilke a complete recording of the lovely but totally unreleased Story of a Woman.

I'm still longing for a complete "The Devil and Daniel Webster" -- also a complete "Endless Night." They'd also do a great job with "Hangover Square." So I guess I am hoping for more Herrmann eventually.

I'm quite happy with the album presentation of 'Jane Eyre' so I wouldn't be overly fussed about an expansion or rerecording of it. I would like a reissue of 'The Cowboys' expanded or not, as I don't have it and I like the score.

I am actually rather keen on doing a complete Jane Eyre as a very fine score and one of my favourite John Williams and quite of lot of music that never made it to the album ...plus stuff on the album that wasn't in the film.

As to Story of a Woman, if someone can clear the rights with the film company, with the music publishers and more particularly with John Williams as he is quite active the control of his music...or rather his agents are. And then also get a copy of the full score ...I will record it for them next week! At the moment I am rather toooo busy with recordings to have time for that prep work.......

plus some people seem to assume what my likes and dislikes are....I do have my own opinions and don't need others saying what I think!

I didn't think I was assuming -- I could have sworn I read on this very board some years back that you didn't consider Jane Eyre worth doing. (I filed that away mentally because I remembered being so disappointed to find that out.) Apologies if I misremembered!

Here are some of the many threads we've had on this board of people asking for a complete new Jane Eyre recording:

I too would love a Jane Eyre complete recording, or Story of a Woman (license permitting!).

Got it. Well fortunately there are some things he likes more and some things you like more and we lucky consumers get to have both. I was with you on Fall of the Roman Empire until I heard the Tadlow recording so I'm glad he cared enough to finance the recording and revise both our opinions of the score!

Aha! I was reading up on some old Tadlow threads walking down memory lane about how excited people were for things like the new Lawrence recording. Lo and behold, I found what I was looking for. I was starting to doubt my memory, but it's you who posts under "Tadlow", not just "JamesFitz", right?

"The original Capitol soundtrack was a very good representation of the JANE EYRE score....so not really worth while doing a "complete" version."

Not to call you out or anything -- I am super happy that your opinion has evolved over the past six years!

I remember getting a similar reply from Roger F. many years ago about him thinking QBVII's album was a very good representation of that score, and there not really being a whole lot of unreleased music that was very different from what was on the album. I'm so glad that didn't stop you and Luc.

Williams' Dracula would also be spectacular in Tadlow form, assuming all the legal headaches could be worked out. Listening to the Conan rerecord at the moment, which is great, great stuff.
