Disappointed that Under Siege 2 is sold out

The site is confusing. It says both "Temporarily out of stock. More will be available in a couple of weeks." and "Sold Out".

Sold Out, WTF ? Well, hell I had to postpone buying this until finances got a bit better...and sold out ?

Let's hope the product page is messed up and it's just put of stock.

This is what the page says:

Temporarily Out Of Stock. More will be available in a couple weeks.

NOT sold out. smile

Had a feeling that was the case, though I'm at this point I'm only disappointed the sale will end before this becomes available again. Ah well, no biggie. I remain curious as to what I'm in for when I get to Under Siege 2. smile

About the music:

I never had the original CD release, but I picked this up at WonderCon, and this is an excellent, fun follow up to the original score.

Greatly enjoy it on every listen. Thanks Varese. smile

Disappointed that Under Siege 2 is sold out, I've been taking a look into this. I already have and immensely enjoy the original score (the main theme is one of my favorites in general), but would it be redundant to own this one as well?
So sez the guy who owns all four Jurassic Park scores, yeah, but still.

Southall's review which he posted higher up in the thread is pretty spot on as far as I'm concerned:
http://www.movie-wave.net/robocop-3/

It's good, not great. I'm glad to have the full score, but to be frank it's nowhere on the level of Under Siege 2. But then I'm personally not that enamored with the original Robocop either, finding it to be pretty overrated. If you like that main theme though, there's more of it here, plus some new ones to keep it company.

I'm trying to create a playlist from this that recreates the original OST as much as possible but with the different track names I'm finding it a bit difficult. Does anyone have a playlist? I think I've managed to replicate it pretty much apart from:
3. Resistance Base (01:36)
4. Otomo Underground (01:49)
5. Murphy's Memories (04:36)
Any help in identifying the corresponding cues on the Deluxe Edition is most appreciated!

"Murphy's Memories" is an album edit which combined two cues if I recall correctly.

Thanks Nicholas, I'm assuming one is 'Robo Recalls / Murphy, Is It You?', anyone know what the other is?

I happen to think this was superior to his original effort, say what you will about that.

I’m not very much a fan of the previous RoboCop 2 score at all though. The music was just too on the nose and campy for my tastes, especially in the film where it detracts from the picture in many key scenes.

Then again that was something that defined Rosenman’s style in general from what I’ve heard. I had the same exact problem with his music he wrote for Star Trek IV.

I’ve also seen mention of Poledouris’ Under Siege 2 which is an amazing score, again far superior to the original effort.

I produced the Deluxe Edition of RoboCop 3 for Varese. It is not possible to sequence the original album from the Deluxe Edition tracks, sorry. (I figured that anybody who cared that much would already have the original CD.) The original CD abridged a bunch of cues in order to get to the AFM-mandated 30 minutes. The track "Murphy's Memories" combined "Unfinished Business" and "Rehab Raid" from different parts of the movie.

Thanks for the additional information Lukas. I only recently got round to picking this up and it's a wonderfully put together release. I'm aware that usually you can't recreate original OSTs exactly because of cut down cues etc and on these complete releases I don't usually think there's any point in recreating them. I do often like to recreate the closest approximation I can to the OST though as a playlist for when I don't have time to listen to a complete score. Also recently thoroughly enjoying your brilliant work on the new Varese release of 'The Haunting' so many thanks!

Now sold out at Varese.

(This was part of the 2022 spring cleaning sale that just launched)

Bought this one on a lark a few years ago, I think during a previous sale, as a blind buy. Really enjoy this score, especially the two "Van Chase" cues. For a complete score presentation, it flows very nicely as a total listening experience.

If i were to re-create the OST as an expanded edition with all the music appearing on the OST separated to their tracks (like recreating the DIAMONDS ARE FOREVER album using only the expanded album as basic for an expanded OST)

what cues would I use from the deluxe soundtrack to recreate an expanded OST

Not arsed, myself. However I played this last night, for the first time in donkeys. I enjoyed it more than I thought I would. Basil was ace.

Yikes! I have a bad habit of missing out on Varese releases including this one. Based on some feedback here and my current love affair with Conan the Destroyer I went on Evilbay and blindly picked up an OOP copy for a decent price.
