Seems like you people are really wanting to hate this score.

It seems like you can't wait to complain about people complaining. Typical!

Seriously, no offense to the person involved, but come on, get a life, right?

And it seems like you can't pass up an opportunity to complain about people that complain about the complainers.

Here's a thought, lets wait till we can see the movie/listen to the CD, before we rip it to shreds or proclaim it the greatest thing ever, or is that just crazy talk?

I have actually pre-ordered the score CD as I thought the low quality preview of Can You Dig It that I listened to had a great 60's vibe.

I got excited for a second, I'm usually not dismissive of Tyler as I like his work for couple of movies. But this, sounds like some 80s cartoon and this sounds nothing like a thematic material compared to john Williams.

Its once again a zimmer'd ostinatos with bunch of drums and a horn theme that is playing within a simple chord progressions that's been done to death by almost everything we call epic these days. It's getting repetitive now.

I'll reserve my full judgment of the use of music in the film it self as usually Brian doesn't overwhelm the film and makes good scoring decision. but I honestly never found any of his scores to stand alone and this one sounds like it won't but we will see.

And why it should had thematic material compared to Williams? Iron Man is no Superman. He's a superhero with modern attitude, who listen to AC/DC and wears a Black Sabbath shirt, not a wimp like Donner's Superman. And Zimmer didn't invented string ostinatos. This is why I meant when I'm saying that people here are complaining for everything.

It doesn't matter if we got an old-school orchestral, thematic score, one with a Golden Age, or 60/80's vibe, or a unthematic electronical one, you keep complaining no matter what's the outcome. You act always the same with movie/music franchises, like Harry Potter, Superman, Batman, James Bond, The Hobbit, or the Marvel ones, and probably the next Star Wars trilogy.

Here's something else to look for complain, the Iron Man theme played in trumpets and strings, with the add of choir. But me, I'm going to enjoy it.

I am not in the least bit ashamed to admit I am looking forward to this score more than any other this year and the early word of mouth has got me even more excited about it.

My review of the score. I can assure everyone it's amazing.

http://www.filmmusicmedia.com/reviews/ironman3bybriantylerreview

very interesting review.
I somehow wonder which Iron Man I score, which Avengers-movie and which composer Brian Tyler is referred to here - certainly not the ones I was confronted with.
And the benchmark for techniques of composing and dealing with a symphony-orchestra seems to be a unique one based on that.
I prefer to approach this score like I did before reading that review, to have the lowest expections about the music. Maybe there is a surprise.

Your credibility went right out the window there.

Totally agree!
Christopher Reeve - the very best Superman.
John Williams - the very best superhero theme!

IMHO of course.

I like it. It's definitely in the same musical universe as The Avengers.
