My review, for what it's worth (i.e. not much):

Boy oh boy, even after owning this CD for several months now, I can`t get over how amazing the music and Mike Matessino`s remastering is. It`s one of my most played CDs of the past months. It reminds me how meaningful and important filmmusic was 30 years ago. Long ago. Today you have ambient sound design winnig the music Oscar.

Couldn't agree more with your comment. The score is fun to listen to and the presentation is wonderful. Really enjoy releases like this. When it was first announced I was hesitant to buy it but snapped it up just in case. Glad I did! Also what you said about film music 30 years ago is how I've felt since I started buying film scores. I particularly enjoy scores from the '80s.

Thanks for the compliment, but good form compels me to point out that I did the 2-track mixes and Dan Hersch mastered. This title had a much-needed quality leap.

I got this in the Intrada sale and am (finally) listening to it. I now understand the excitement around its release. Horner really has one of his finest moments in this score. I adore his other work in the 80s, and this fits right in. Thanks Intrada!

I love this score too.One of my favourite Horners from the 80s.

See how easy that was? Its possible to convey how much you like a score from another generation without moaning about the supposed sorry state of film music today. There are scores from recent years that i like just as much as from the era i grew up in.

In case anyone is interested, the new Eureka Bluray features an isolated score option:

(Temporarily out of stock)
Unfortunately we have discovered a sequencing issue with our recent batch of Cocoon. All of the music is there but in the wrong sequence. You may still place an order for Cocoon, but we will not be shipping any more copies until we correct the problem. Future orders for Cocoon will ship either with the correct CD already inserted, or with a separate replacement disc.

Hmm. According to ScreenArchives it’s coming back mid-September.

Actually, there are currently 10 copies available from Intrada's Amazon storefront, which makes me wonder if that's left-over inventory from the previous batch (not this recent erroneous one). There have been plenty of times when out of stock/print titles were still available from them via their Amazon allocation. "Twilight Zone '85" was available that way for MONTHS after it went OOP on the website.

If I ordered a copy from Intrada on 04/21/2021 and received it shortly thereafter, did I probably get a bad disc?

Bravo to Intrada Customer Service...

Received a corrected copy of Cocoon 7 months after my original order...

Didn't even have to request it, they mailed it automatically...

Thank you...

How can I know if I got a copy with the replacement disc? (I didn’t purchase directly from Intrada or any of the major webshops.)
Is there a different code printed on the disc?
