Varese has failed to live up to their reputation. I just don't know who these obscure titles would appeal to?? Varese has gone down hill for some time now! Anyone who buys these ridiculous titles are supporting Varese in a negative way.

Pretty cool Varèse is shipping discs the day after the announcement, huh? That two week wait before they ship never happened this time around. That's something positive, right?!!!!

VERY positive, DMD!

Yavar

Of course if you ordered later in the day it is more likely to be shipping today (like mine was) or early next week. So don't freak out if you haven't gotten a shipping notice yet. Varese always had a bit of a delay for shipping based on when you bought it.

  • True enough; but that really wouldn't be very different than some of the harsh comments Varese seems to be getting presently. And at least that way, a few of those in perpetuity titles could get released now and then. Even if it were only 3-5 titles in the course of a year, it would be miles ahead of the release schedule Varese seems to be on right now.

With STID out of the way (and I say that as a hardcore Trek fan), hopefully the next Club release will tackle the likes of Gremlins 2 or Addams Family Values.

That still doesn't justify placing expectations on a (now) subsidiary to release certain albums that may not be in the best interest of its parent company presently. I'd like to have the above as well, but it's a sucker bet to realize that others will be fuming if those are part of a few released this year, when they really wanted "their" holy grails now-now-now. Also, there's no guarantee that they won't reappear as Encores. Cutting Edge's will, be done.

  • True but I for one can't keep up with all the "special signifiers" various labels give their releases. I read a special batch is coming and anticipate a possible "holy grail" in the batch. I really couldn't care less what a limited or club title means. Same with Intrada with Excalibur, Special Collection, Signature, etc. I don't have a clue. Some of us have far more important things we need to learn on a daily basis and distinctions between label releases isn't one of them.

And yet you still regard all releases as "Club" fare, not realizing that those other signifiers allow for a variety of work beyond someone's idea of a holy grail. It's best not to expect anything.

    SHIPPING update:

Your neighborhood DrivingMissDaisy who works at Varèse wanted to advise. Today we finally finished DAY ONE of the orders. That should give you an idea of how MANY orders we had. Keep in mind everyone, when you placed your order around midnight on Sunday, so did the rest of the world. HUNDREDS and HUNDREDS and HUNDREDS of others. We are kicking butt and taking names and by next week we should have ALL orders shipped. PLEASE give us till the end of next week before emailing or calling or what not to inquire on your order as we want to spend EVERY second of the business day in front of our shipping table instead of our computer.

Do not ask me about your oder and/or when it will ship or if it has. If you haven't gotten an email from us saying your order shipped then we haven't gotten to it. REST assured, Team Varèse is working on it and we are packing these babies as quick as the law allows!

BTW, great to see a lot of names I recognize when I pack up these orders. Too cool! I recognize a lot of names or orders. Have a great weekend and we'll be back shipping EARLY Monday morning.

    Cheers,
    DMD

I got my copy of No God, No Master today! Wow! What a score! This is going to be a favorite for sure I can tell. Such lush themes and so full of emotion.

Still waiting for my Warriors of Virtue from BSX but what can you say.

Yeah, it's really good. Some moments remind me of Elfman at his dramatic best, others are pure Malo. A really good listen.
