Every October, I break out albums for Halloween, and over the last few years, this has become an absolute favorite. I have played it probably more than any other gothic/macabre/supernatural score that I have. I love everything about this album - the ghostly voices, the beautiful love theme, the quiet atmospheric passages for flute, harp and strings, the full-on orchestral stuff. Everything.
I've been told that the Les Baxter collection has several of his film scores. I hope that this is one of them. I would love to hear a contemporary re-recording. But I do adore the original.
