3-0. Heh.

The inconsistency of this year's Manchester United squad is just plain bizarre. In one week they're flattened by Stevie G. Penalties, the same week they pull their big, fat, overpaid arses out of the fire and smash Olympiakos in the CL to advance to the QF.

Anyone figure this out yet?

That just shows how bad Man Utd must have been in the first leg to lose 2-0 to a team of that 'quality'. Still, it now means they are the weakest team left in the competitionwink

I agree! However, if they had been bounced out of the competition, this thread would have jumped from the depths of this dying board and remained right at the top for days. Guess we'll have to wait until the next fixture for that to happen.

IIRC, Chelsea were a pretty weak team in this competition a couple of years ago and that turned out well, not that I'm predicting a United CL win this time around (Ha!!!).

Not forgetting the Liverpool team in 2005, who certainly weren't the greatest ever..

As for beating OLY, I wouldn't get too carried away by the 'hype'..

...a 3-0 home win over a side that lost to Anderlecht by the same scoreline in the group stages, have won just seven of 50 away games in the Champions League, have lost 12 of 12 games in England and are ranked 26th in Europe by UEFA (just below Rubin Kazan).

They did well to overturn the 2 goals, considering how shit they are these days, but I don't fancy their chances against the teams that are left now.
I reckon the other teams will relish drawing Man U in the next round.
Aye, they could do a Liverpool '05 and swagger to the final, but I somehow doubt it.
We had a decent tactician like Benitez to guide us, they have Davey Moyes wink

That sure doesn't bode well for Bayern Mu...oh, THAT Bayern Munich?!? As bad as United are, any team who drew Bayern was going to have it toughest.

Who did Liverpool draw in the quarter finals? wink

Not at all! It's just that you boys are so predictable in your United bashing that at least a little balance is needed around here. You'll find no bigger Steven Gerard supporter named "Jim Phelps" on this board.

Besides, I had to cut the "baiting" short; dan the man just posted some more composer birthdays. wink

Bad Luck #1: RSVP finds his scoring boots and is then invalided for four weeks.

Bad Luck #2: Man U get the worst possible draw in the Champions' League.

Thus the pendulum swings.

Bloody shame.

big grin

Bill's Boys got Rooney'ed, TG's guys got past Miwall, and Thomas and Kev's Reds put six past and let three in against Cardiff.

I'm slowly motivating myself to get back into the weekly recap. The month I had away from here and the slow-ass FSM board put a crimp in my plans...

Tomkins was pushed. rooney doesnt even look at the ball. he waits till tomkins in air then shoves him.

not that it matters. we are back playing like utter wnkrs and wouldve lost anyway so they need to be staring over their shoulders if cardiff palace and sunderland nick 3 more points each.

Push or no push, your keeper was caught bare-arsed out in the middle of nowhere. It's one thing to lose, it's another for bonehead mistakes. I know how irritating it is. You have my sympathy, Bill.
