glad to see "Fearful Symetry" but still no "Three of a Kind" It's kinda like what CSM said about the Buffalo Bills winning the Super Bowl... MV

It's been man years sicne I've been able to watch the series, so I can't say what I want fully that hasnt' already been released, but there are still two things and a point of interest that hasn't been covered: 1: The swimming pool attack music from "The Walk". 2. And the music used in lots of the trailers: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fdqdnMWJ37w There was another, but this new set is covering it: the closing cue from "Small Potatoes". And the point of interest: As I posted on the first page of this thread in 2013: "And Snow told in a long interview posted in May he did a handful of themes for the show (demos) that were completely different, but not working out, until he discovered the final theme for the show. I'd would be nice to hear those early demos." I guess the odds and ends set will have to cover that.

OT: who here knows the real life person whom the CSM was based upon?

Would still love to see the cue from This Is Not Happening when Reyes is driving down the road lighting a smoke at night and sees the UFO streak across the sky and land.

Disc one has Deep Throat, Space, and Conduit. So awesome! I'll be buying Vol 2 and 3. Good times.

Ordered, and I think autographed as well! The much longer time spent per episode is impressive -- Deep Throat, Conduit, Genderbender are all worthy of their long cues! However as a result we get 18 episodes for the whole set, which is half of what was covered in Vols 1 & 2 (although I suspect there will be no additional requests for music from the Vol.3 episodes, unlike for the other two). Also, for Vol.3, no music at all from seasons 3 and 7 -- but plenty from 1, 5 and others. The single cue from The Pine-Bluff Variant is great: it's the episode's "theme", it's what is memorable from the episode, and so with that single essential track it is covered. There are several other cues from episodes not covered or from covered that could be quickly tackled like that. The ending of Apocrypha, the stiletto search from Talitha Cumi or the bedside cry of Redux II for example, pushed back to Volume 4. Waiting for the release, I made a total sum of track lengths over all three volumes: it looks good! And you can tell the favourites. Season - Episodes - Length 1 - 14 - 1:57:19 2 - 13 - 2:13:36 3 - 9 - 1:02:19 4 - 12 - 2:32:51 5 - 13 - 2:32:45 6 - 10 - 1:52:22 7 - 8 - 0:45:30 8 - 6 - 1:02:52 9 - 6 - 1:03:40 Total - 91 (of 202) - 15:03:14 http://www.eatthecorn.com/2016/10/25/mm-at-20-lll-vol-3/ I'm relieved there will be a Vol.4! But I hope it's 4 CDs as well -- you would expect some whining, no?

Well we will see what happens. Traditionally there are 3 plus years between these volumes and so I suppose anything can happen. I like MV's comment yesterday about it being a good day for LLL. Hopefully that means an unqualified great day and not great in the perspective of a multi-disc, volume 3 that may have tempered expectations. anything we can do to get the news out there, get legs under this thing and keep it going will only be helpful. I for one would totally be on board for a 4-disc Vol 4 prior to the odds 'n' ends volume. I would also gladly chip in another $30 to turn the odds 'n' ends into a 4 discer with perhaps 2 discs devoted to new episodes. I liked that break down of total music release per season a lot. If we're still under 100 episodes touched upon, there's clearly many other places to still go! So I am on board and remain forever LLL's faithful servant. I always like to say every season needs 1 CD at a minimum and 2 CDs is probably a good cap per season. With that philosophy I would follow X-Files to 18 discs without a second thought. So who knows. I think I was big on making requests prior to volumes 1 and 2 but not sure if I got too bust prior to Vol. 3 to really think it through, though very happy with what showed up on this volume anyway. So only because it's on my mind here's my wishlist at the moment, not to be read into that Volume 3 hasn't even arrived yet. But I'm focused on it at the moment. Most of these appear to be on eat the corn but not all. Where I say medley I admittedly need to do more research, it just feels like this is a significant hole and this episode needs some attention even if I can't point to anything specific. I suppose this would all, and I think easily, fit onto two discs so if LLL just wants to take this for their odds 'n' ends blueprint and call it a day, then I am certainly on board with that. Thanks again for giving attention to this wellspring of formidable music! 1 "Deep Throat" DC/Bar Music 1 "Ghost In The Machine" Medley 2 "Duane Barry" Medley 2 "Ascension" Medley On the Cable Car 2 "End Game" Opening Teaser 2 "Humbug" Medley 3 "Paper Clip" Arrival at Mine 3 "Apocrypha" Lone Gunmen Skating 3 "Quagmire" Ending Music of Big Blue 3 "Talitha Cumi" Searching the Cabin 4 "Unruhe" Medley Scully Abduction 4 "Paper Hearts" Opening Teaser 4 "Leonard Betts" Opening Teaser 4 "Never Again" Medley Tattoo scene Tracking Shot Down Hallway 4 "Memento Mori" Medley Ending Scene in Hospital 5 "Redux II" Opening Teaser Mulder at Scully's Bedside 6 "Triangle" Any of the Swing Music especially melding into classic XF sound (if not all by Snow, that's ok, include it!) 6 "Arcadia" Mulder Plants Flamingo 7 "Hollywood A.D." The Zombie Dance Number (is this not by Snow?, otherwise I am baffled by it's exclusion, include anyway!) 7 "Fight Club" Medley (just looking for a good rendition of that truly bizarre theme) 9 "Provenance" Medley 9 "Providence" Medley Spaceship Take-Off "Secrets Of The X-Files" Main Title (I don't care if this is another composer, there's a place for it! make it a hidden easter egg, perhaps it is on Vol. 3!)

Thanks all! And thanks also for the help in building this list with your suggestions - foxmorty (and others) I'll check your new ones and complete it. Of course, thanks a ton to La La Land for making all of this happen -- I was already over the moon when a first set was announced, before even it got the label "Volume One", so imagine 15 hours of material later! This goes without saying. But because in such boards you will find obsessive collector character types, it follows that we offer our suggestions for future sets...humbly, but strongly opinionated! I always like to say ever season needs 1 CD at a minimum and 2 CDs is probably a good cap per season. With that philosophy I would follow X-Files to 18 discs without a second thought. So who knows. I completely agree with all of your post, foxmorty. There's still quite a bit out there and you can build a solid set without "diminishing returns" in terms of quality. Hopefully there will be no diminishing returns in terms of sales either, perhaps the opposite actually thanks to the renewed interest for X-Files because of the revival. Some comments: - I know exactly what you mean by "medley": there are some episodes where I remember very specific bits (like that Apocrypha bit https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E_uVNHinjJ8) and some others where I'm unable to point to specifics (like Genderbender - on Vol.3!). - "Humbug" Medley: There's clean music (without dialogue) from Humbug in The Truth and the Light - "Triangle" swing: Dick Walters' Hot Liquorice https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KNMoYJhicEY - not Mark Snow, as far as I can tell not arranged at all - "Hollywood A.D." The Zombie Dance Number: Buena Vista Social Club's Pueblo Nuevo https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=okAE631gGX8 - but a Mark Snow rendition? to check - "Secrets Of The X-Files" Main Title: I love that one too! I have no clue if it's Mark Snow or not! Quite different. There's also a different theme for "More Secrets of XF", but it's quite horrible. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gN9UNx7vLD8 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XSPFR9ZxvoI Perhaps LLL is also considering a 1-CD release for music from the revival? (although to be frank music was rather absent or less memorable, at least in my memory...)

Back on July 15, MV said about the 2016 episode scores: Hold tight, fellas. Tons of stuff going on at Fox TV Music Dept recently. When the dust settles we hope to have this out.
