Suarez's two goals begs the question, why did Liverpool sell him? wink

Once bitten, twice shy.

And his double nutmegging of Luiz demonstrates clearly why Chelsea let HIM go.

I believe the "shy" part, for sure. No Suarez=no Liverpool playing for anything important.

As for David Luiz, he's just another average Brazilian player getting paid big money merely because he's Brazilian.

Let's also not forget Suarez's countryman, Cavani, who always comes up small in the big games (and is always offside).

Cavani...I'm pretty sure he was born offside. David Luiz was probably seeing 7-1 in his eyes again.

Try to remember, Phelpsiewink

Here's a good article from the BBC about previous 'underdogs' in semis (if you can watch the videos). I remember the '92 game against Portsmouth at Highbury well, I was at it with me Dad...

Yes, I saw that over at the Beeb. The Era of Baggy Shirts only recently ended, didn't it? wink

Hope your FA Cup memories are pleasant ones, Thomasino. smile

Meanwhile, in the Premiership, Bill's West Ham go to the Ethiad to hopefully add to Manchester City's woes.

Also, Chelsea host that other Manchester team, who will attempt to put a three-point dent in the Blues' title hopes.

Bold Predictions for this weekend's FA Cup semifinals:

Reading 1 Arsenal 3

Aston Villa 1 Liverpool 2

Can't wait to see how wrong I'll be...

Villa is the fly in ointment for me.
Their team is finally playing more to their capacity.
Liverpool should have enuf but a lucky day could see villa scrape thru.
A liv arse final would at least be attractive.

I hope Jim is right with his predictions! smile

Hey Bill, don't know if you already know this, but as it stands (with 6 games left) West Ham sit atop the Fair Play League and if it stays that way til Seasons' End, it's Europa League Football next season for your boys (probably joining our boys on Thursday Nights) frown

Chelsea 1 Manchester United 0

No truly good result could have come from this game, except to back my Bold Prediction, which was incorrect. Heck, they all were today. Maybe West Ham carves up City tomorrow and Liverpool smash Aston Villa, then all will be right in the universe.

Nice goals from Alexis Sanchez today; he's one of my favorite players. Scrappy, inventive, and indefatigable.

1-1 36 minutes in, with Villa equalizing courtesy of Benteke after Coutinho gave pool the early advantage. Great pace to this match so far.

Secoond half: Fabian Delph scores in the 54th minute to give Villa a 2-1 advantage! (and they've scuttled my Bold Prediction)

Hi Stevie

Nobody likes to work on their birthday. We've got together to give you the day off. Have a good one mate.

Best wishes
From all at Villa.

the saddest bloke on the forum has to copy his own predictions in when they are so rarely right!!

I hope west ham put the boot in. Disappointed to hear we didnt have at least two blokes sent off!
If it was me i wouldve blown at horn at a certain point in match and had 4 players wrestle Milner to the ground and set about giving him a thorough kicking. It would be worth it!!

I was listening to a sports channel this morning (Radio 5 Live) & they were talking about six foreign Leeds players who'd decided that they weren't well enough to travel to Charlton, & so didn't go. Things seem to be going from bad to worse there. Pretty soon it's just going to be the oldies who remember the glory days there.

That's what youtube's for!

Yes, an unusual state of affairs, definitely a rabbit off somewhere.

Is it safe to say that The Premiership is Chelsea's this season? Ugh.

Okay, we do have Champions League which only Bill and I are able to discuss. Tall Guy's still haunted by '75, Thomas and Kev are glued to their DVD-R of The Miracle of Istanbul, and...and...and...
