Well whaddya know! Sir Kenneth later "re-upped" for the sequel, as I originally posted in 2012:

HELL INTO BAGHDAD (2005)
Directed by Roger Donaldson.
After his wife is killed during a visit to war torn Iraq, the British Prime Minister (Russell Crowe) resigns and reunites his Falklands war commando unit in order to conduct a bloody vendetta of vengeance. Hugh Grant; Daniel Craig; Bradley Walsh; Simon Pegg; and Kenneth Branagh as "Sergeant Noakes." Remake of the 1973 classic, "Hell into Belfast."

He must have really liked the concept.

Sounds absolutely horrendous. Sure to win all the major awards next year.

The film's workng title was "Blue Harvest", because Ang Lee didn't want the studio to know he was making a film about a writer, whch would not only have scared away Chinese and Russian audiences, but also the American audience, such was their fear of literacy, thinking, and feeling anything beyond that Star Wars thrill of yet another Death Star exploding.

Some topics here stick to the olde FSM messageboard wall the way Felix Unger's (Jack Lemmon) plate of linguine did after being sent aloft by Oscar Madison (Walter Matthau) in 1968. It appears that this thread is one of them. (THANK GOD)

The Fivehouse thread anniversary is not far behind. (Started in the year 2007 as well)

Anz, I just received those Fivehouse article clippings you sent from People and Us magazines, so thanks. I appreciated the inclusion of the rather obscure 1980 Lonsdale interview in The Trentonian, in which he eviscerates Alan Fivehouse: Scotland Yard's Finest, which I suppose was the Never Say Never of Fivehouse films, even if Theodore Bikel didn't play Fivehouse before Lonsdale did.

In fact, it's odd to think that anyone but Michael Lonsdale has played Alan Fivehouse.

The box-office-record-smashing weekend debut of Algore's "A Convenient Lie Sequel: (My Version of) Truth to Power"

The key to a successful parody or satire in this thread is to not violate FSM's board rules. smile

As police lieutenant Mason James (Severn Darden) once said, "For a man to get away with murder, he must become the 'b' in subtlety."

Well, these couldn't be as bad as:

1. George Lucas ruining by childhood
2. JJ Abrahms defecating on my adulthood

I saw that on Netflix, and as is my habit when everyone else is still asleep I had the sound low and read the dialogue on the bottom of th screen. Although he said exactly what you quote, the words below unfortunately read "For a man to get away with murder, he must become the 'b' in subtitles" - which kinda spoiled it.

In an interesting stretch, imagine Robert Conrad having a short cameo as Smith's elderly adoptive father.
