I'm curious aboutn"Riker's Strut#2". Was this used in the final film?
Not entirely sure. I know there was a scene with Wesley from the party that was cut. Picard said it was good to see Wesley in a uniform again. I think it was used for that sequence but didn't make it in the final film.
Its the music thats played when people are dancing at Riker and Trois wedding.
Just treated myself to listening to this in its entirety and my oh my, what a fantastic expansion! This is without a doubt my favourite of JG's Trek work since TMP.Stunning action music to go along with surprisingly heartbreaking themes for Data and Shinzon.Never realised until not how much of the latter dominates the entire score until now.
The sound is greatly improved over the previous release.Tracks like ' The Scorpion ' have much more kick than they did originally.
A terrific end to Goldsmiths run on the series for one of the most underated films in the franchise.Will treasure this for many years to come.

This was indeed a strange Goldsmith STAR TREK score to accept back in 2002, but I certainly have always enjoyed major portions of it and appreciate it much more now. I think what some aspects which many were not a fan of is that fact that it maintains a moody, brooding tone accompanied by the explosive action cues without the sense of optimism spread through the other Goldsmith TREK scores.
FIRST CONTACT has its dark, brooding moments as well as great action, but then that main "First Contact" theme really adds variety and adds that level of optimism and wonder. NEMESIS is often a very single-minded score. More of its variety shines in this release, though, such as the nods to TMP and uses of that "Quest" theme from TFF, which wound becoming a theme more about Picard in Goldsmith's TNG score.
As for my own expanded album edit, I went for one in the 70-minute range, with these tracks, keeping what Goldsmith had on his original album and just supplementing it:

Nemesis arrived yesterday.
Not listened to it yet but just had to say isn't it fantastic to have all 10 expanded/complete scores. Who would have thought a few years ago that this would ever happen.
My inner geek too over and I couldn't resist pulling out the other releases and putting them all side by side. Go on admit it.... who else did the same? I'm sure I'm not the only one.
Thanks to all the people and labels involved in bringing these releases out. Now to find the time and sit down and listen to all of them one after the other 
We still do not have all TWELVE expanded Trek movie scores.Until an expanded Into Darkness and a proper expanded reissue of Star Trek 2009 appear, the collection is not complete.

They could just add a few of the 'corrected' cues as a bonus on the INTO DARKNESS expansion set. Thats should probably take another page of credits into the booklet. just saying...why not?
Probably for the same reason they weren't on the original release: cost. They'd still have to pay for the choral overlays from the previous score. If they didn't do it earlier, I can't see them ponying up the bucks to do it now.

I've been loving this new release and have been playing it endlessly since it arrived, a big thanks to everyone involved. It's wonderful to have the original live mixes in the extras to go along with the original album. I'm trying to put together an original live mix playlist combining the relevant tracks from each release, below is the playlist I came up with. Can Mike, Lukas or anyone else in the know confirm if this is correct? Many thanks.

Thanks for this. I think it's what can be done with the material we've got at this point. At least until the music in high resolution quality will be sold as a download in the arguably not so far future...
I made a mixdown of #22 - cutting & pasting the alternate mix of "True Nature" using Cool edit pro.
However, it is a pity the whole program does not fit on a single CD. There are about 2 minutes of overrun to be cut away.
