Double figures today for West Yorkshire after a little cold snap. No snow since a dusting a week ago.

Good luck USA....

Holy Smoke! I just woke up to see this out my window...

We may get 60 inches before this is over. No one is going anywhere in this. My company may close Mon and Tues so I may get a four day weekend out of this. No problem. Lots of soundtracks to listen to!

Not far from 2 feet of snow along with 40mph winds. It will be fun shoveling.

Current snowfall, about 10 miles south of Washington DC. Another 4-8 inches on the way today.

Blimey. The movie I watched yesterday night, by sheer coincidence, was The Day After Tomorrow.

Over the last couple of days the Sun has been warm and the winds calm. You could sit at the seafront and fall asleep from the stillness, so I've heard. This is in sharp contrast to the sheer misery of continual flooding northern countrymen have experienced.

Not far from 2 feet of snow along with 40mph winds. It will be fun shoveling.

So much for my assurances that it would not reach 47F/9C, as it's presently 46F/8C with about fifteen mph winds. I'm sure my fellow US-based FSMers in the northeast and mid-Atlantic states would gladly take it.

47F and windy. Feels like 44: miserable!

(Which I'm sure makes no one feel sorry for me, considering how much colder it is elsewhere).

Balmy and in the 70's. Not a cloud in the sky (which means no rain, too, which is not exactly good news.)

I have no idea about this Fahrenheit stuff, but we've been having 2-3 degrees Celsius here in Oslo the last couple of weeks -- which is relatively mild for the season up here, causing the snow to melt. Thank God! However, the pleasure is short, because a new cold front is expected this weekend, with temps once again falling to -11 C. And then I guess we'll get some more snow again after that. frown

Why on earth are you living in Norway, Thor, if everything about the weather is so bad?

I just noticed this post. Yeah, shoveling heavy snow can be quite dangerous no matter how fit one is. Not only did I shovel myself out, but also my neighbors and it amounted to nearly 4 hours nonstop. The worst part was the solid and heavy ice buildup in front of the driveways courtesy of the county plows. I hope I don’t have to do that again for a long time.

It's been great -- but then again, I'm at the French riviera right now, and well into my second week here at the Cannes film festival. Occasional sprinkles of rain don't bother me much.
