Mahler's 2nd Symphony "Resurrection" - Rattle/BPO.

I've owned this for a couple or years but struggle to get into it (I used to own a recording by Kaplan which I sold many years ago ... it failed to gel with me).

I've recently purchased the Klaus Tennstedt Mahler Complete Symphonies box set but want to get to grips with the Rattle recording before I play this new acquisition.

Broadway in a Box Disc 4

Thanks for posting this Gary, I wasn't aware of this fine box set release. Definitely something I want to get. Like yourself, I have some of these releases but not all. I've put it on my wish list, it is my birthday soon (40th to boot!).

I got it through Pop Market last week. It was at a significant reduction in price. Pop Market does one day deals With last weekend being the Tony Awards, they had a whole week of Broadway related stuff. See the what's new in your collection thread over on the film side to see what else I grabbed. Early happy birthday. The box is terrific, but you have to be able to tolerate CDs in cardboard sleeves.

Broadway in a Box Disc 5

20 to go. smile

There really needs to be a boxed set of all of the Lincoln Center recordings produced by Richard Rodgers.

The cover is misleading - I'm listening to Disc 2 of this set which features Stravinsky's 1940 recording with the Philharmonic-Symphony of NY (which to my ears is a superior performance).

Love that Stravinsky LP cover!

I think this is far more innovative and original than the lauded Daft Punk album...

COMPANY, one of my favourite Sondheim's. Love that OBC Recording as well.

Good to see you're still working your way through that box, Gary. I've put out the feelers that's on my list for my birthdaysmile

I gave this a spin last night for the first time in ages. Classic...
