Just an FYI, reports from people who have purchased the set say that there are music issues with this cheaper set. It's not the same content as the Most Wanted box. Episodes in seasons 2 and 3 have the Mark Hayes replacement music.

If true, that sucks. I tried to do my research before buying it and I'd read it would be the same content as the Most Wanted Edition. Why the hell can't CBS get this right?

Greg Espinoza

They are apparently aware of the problem and are - once again - offering replacement discs.

While the 2012 limited release of "The Most-Wanted Edition" is still readily available in many places (at, or sometimes above, the original list price of $242.99 SRP), the folks at CBS Home Entertainment and Paramount Home Media Distribution have now scheduled a May 5th "unlimited" re-release of The Fugitive - The Complete Series on DVD. This 32-disc set will be missing the thirty-third Bonus DVD from that previous package, but will have all the same contents (episodes and extras) as found in the eight individual half-season sets the studio put out in stores from 2007 to 2011. Excepting, of course, that the hard-won technical corrections are surmised to be in place, naturally! Specific pricing isn't available yet, but it's expected to be more attractive than the previous complete set.

I posted about this on the CBS Facebook page and got this response. They will be doing replacement discs again.

There was no disappointment on my part nor that of anyone else I've come across who got the "Batman" set, other than the screw-up made that Warner ultimately corrected with replacement discs.

you really enjoy watching them - as a mature adult?

I enjoy them immensely but then again I never claim to be either mature or an adult. I don't even claim to be a real man as I don't care for or get turned on by beer, sports, most women, women kissing, lesbian sex, driving fast, car chases, explosions, and guns; not necessarily in that order.

As a child I only could see the film as the series had long since been off TV. I loved it as if it were real. Then as an adult I really love the underlying humour. Witness that short exchange between Batman, Robin, the commissioner and Chief O'Hara on how the Penguin and his entourage are able to survive in an air tight vault. The joke goes over most people's heads.
The episodes "His honor the Penguin" and "Dishonor the Penguin" is a really no holds barred ridiculing of the election process, the manipulation by politicians and the stupidity of the lazy and gullible public. It still holds its own with the best out there today.

So YES I ENJOY them. Not only that, I rebut: you are a mature adult and you can't enjoy watching them? No further comment needed.

Universal has just sent over a statement regarding the missing content in both the Remastered Collection, and the Definitive Collection, which were released a few weeks ago:
There is missing footage during the episode, THE MAGNIFICENT WARRIORS, on disc 3 of the widescreen version of BATTLESTAR GALACTICA on both the Remastered Collection and Definitive Collection. The issue is being fixed and consumers can get a replacement disc by emailing USHEConsumerRelations@visionmediamgmt.com.

Consumers should include, "Battlestar Galactica Classic Collection: BD" in the subject line of their email and the following text in the body of the email, "I would like to receive a replacement disc for (Disc 3, Episode "The Magnificent Warriors")."

Within 24-48 hours, consumers will get a response asking for their mailing address in the United States or Canada. Shortly thereafter, they will receive a postage-paid envelope for them to mail in their disc with the missing footage from THE MAGNIFICENT WARRIORS. 2-3 weeks later they will receive a replacement disc with the complete episode.
Excellent job by Universal for identifying the problem, and setting up a replacement program so quickly.

All 39 heavenly episodes from Season 1 & 2 of THE SAINT! Modern-day Robin Hood. Wealthy man of mystery. Debonair rogue. Call Simon Templar what you will, but never cross THE SAINT. A timeless figure of adventure since his creation by Leslie Charteris in 1928, The Saint has thrilled adventure aficionados with his exploits in a variety of media, including novels, movies, and radio-but nowhere was the dashing Mr. Templar more indelibly realized than in his 1960s television series, starring the perfectly cast Roger Moore in the title role.

Seasons One and Two of The Saint set the stage for what would become a six season run on television, and paved the way for the dashing Roger Moore to take on the role of an even more famous man of action later in his career. With guest starring appearances by such notables as Oliver Reed (Tommy, Gladiator), Academy Award-winning actress Julie Christie (Darling, Doctor Zhivago) and a pair of beauties from the spy classic Goldfinger (Honor Blackman and Shirley Eaton), The Saint is a wild and witty adventure that is every bit as fun and exciting today as it was when it first aired.
We told you last February to expect this date, and now Shout! Factory has made it official: The Saint - Seasons 1 & 2 is coming to DVD from their Timeless Media Group division on October 13th. The price is a tad higher than we expected, though, clocking in at $44.99 SRP...but that's for a 10-disc set!

The Six Million Dollar Man - 'Wide' General Retail Release for 'The Complete Series' on DVD!
35-disc set with all 5 seasons, all 3 pilot telefilms, and all 3 reunion telefilms

When an aircraft crash leaves him barely alive, Colonel Steve Austin (Majors) is rebuilt with cutting-edge bionic technology. Now, atomic-powered limbs propel him at speeds of 60 mph, giving him the ability to overturn massive objects and take on America's most nefarious villains and their schemes.

Golden Globe nominee Lee Majors is "better, stronger, faster" in this incredible 100-episode collection of the iconic series. Also included are all three pilot movies, and three reunion movies. Join one of TV Guide's "24 Greatest Action Heroes" as he tackles top-secret missions that left millions of fans breathless for five thrilling seasons.
In 2010, Time Life released a 40-DVD collectible (lenticular artwork and bionic sound effects) package of The Six Million Dollar Man - The Complete Series: it included every episode (including cross-over episodes from The Bionic Woman), all six pre- and post-series telefilms, a dozen featurettes, a half-dozen audio commentaries, and more. This item was exclusively made available from TimeLife.com's online sales site. Then, from 2011 to 2014, Universal Studios released all 5 seasons to retail stores, individually, with scaled-back extras (and none of the 3 post-series reunion telefilms), covering a combined 32 DVDs in all.

Today Universal Studios Home Entertainment has announced that on October 13th they will release a retail version of The Six Million Dollar Man - The Complete Series, on 35 DVDs, with all 5 seasons (as seen in the five individual retail season sets), plus the 3 discs that include the three post-season telefilms (with Bionic Woman Jaime Sommers - who gets her own separate Complete Series DVD release on the same date! - teaming up with Steve Austin in The Return of the Six Million Dollar Man and the Bionic Woman, Bionic Showdown co-starring Sandra Bullock(!), and Bionic After After?). The "Reunion Collection" pack with those three discs will NOT be available for sale separately, by the way...you can only buy them in The Complete Series. Cost for the new collection is $129.98 SRP

In 2010 and 2011, Universal Studios Home Entertainment released all 3 individual season sets of Lindsay Wagner in her iconic role as "Jaime Sommers," The Bionic Woman. Each set (4 discs for Season 1, and 5 discs for the other two seasons) contained all the episodes for each season, plus extras...and there were bonus cross-over episodes of The Six Million Dollar Man to be found as well.

Now, for the first time ever, Universal will release The Bionic Woman - The Complete Series on DVD, with all three seasons compiled together into one package (see artwork below). Pricing is $74.98 SRP, and it will be out on October 13th...the same date that Universal is bringing The Six Million Dollar Man - The Complete Series to stores for the first time. Definitely a terrific twosome worth picking up for the upcoming holidays...and a double dose of Oscar Goldman, too!

I would hardly call them "classics," but I do remember enjoying them on a very "guilty pleasure" level when they aired. Manimal in particular. The opening concept recap was hilarious in its over the top seriousness.

I'll probably buy them...

Agreed. From the 1980, the word 'classic' doesn't fit in. The old way is gone.
Television at its classic status goes from the Fifties to the Seventies.

Eventually, all those later shows will be classed as vintage. I guess it's also down to which generation you grew up in.

You are SO right. "Classic" television series from the '80s are few and far between.
