This is the version from the single not the film version, though the backing is the same.

Peter, that's a great video (even if the lip-synching isn't perfect) ... many thanks for posting.

I've bought that song many times over the last 40+ yrs, and yet I don't recall hearing that version before. The phrasing is subtly different in a number of places.

I even bought a 45rpm re-release in the early 1980s but I'm convinced that it was the OST recording. Any idea if this version is available on CD?

Many thanks for that info. I've looked to buy that (double) CD a few times but been deterred by the number of duplications it will give me. This is the impetus I needed ... ordered!

It's interesting that she gets the last note of the middle eight wrong both times. I would bet that Barry requested she re-do the vocal for the film and album.

What in the world were they thinking when they had her standing on the girder as it rises up to the building? She is clearly not attached to any cables and could have easily fallen.

Nah! Couldn't you tell, it was all done with CGI?
