there is a button to click on that says "BACK". if you click that when the credits are small boxed it will expand them again for you

Thxs didn't see that. Apparently my issue is fixed however. I noticed (at least for my streaming) it went back the way it was-no shrinking windows, and program plays full screen until the end of the credits.

Sure
I did not like the last remodel Netflix did, but I have gotten used to it now.

I came across a nifty article today on Netflix's Open Connect Appliances. What's an OCA, you ask? It's in the article! It's a bit tangential to the main discussion here of the Netflix user experience, but it still fits under "Netflix General Discussion," and it's pretty interesting (to me, anyway), so I thought I'd share...

As a fellow score fan I'm surprised you said that. I love hearing the end credits music and I like to read the credits. A program is over when the end credits end.

I would agree with you except for most TV shows have really boring scores. I can hardly stand to listen to any of the scores from the TV series I watch outside of the context of the show. There are very few shows that actually have decent scores. For the most part Netflix does the smaller box thing with TV series as opposed to films where there are often decent bits of music in the end credits. I think most episodes of the shows I watch tend to just have a song in the end credits that is not part of the score.

I was watching Battlestar Galactica TOS which has great end credit music. smile But I agree I can do without some awful song. Not a fan of Enterprise main theme.

@ Joe E.- I'll check out your link tomorrow.

I was one of those who used to complain about Netflix streaming having lots of problems with stalls and pauses during peak viewing hours in my neighborhood. I watched Netflix through the apps on my Sony bluray player. That player died over the weekend (just started groaning and displaying WAIT WAIT WAIT no matter how many resets, etc., I performed) -- so I purchased a new bluray player. In addition to having a totally new interface for Netflix, the service streaming through the new bluray player has not paused and/or stalled once since the upgrade. So I am much happier with Netflix thanks to my hardware.

Well the issue with shrinking windows and countdown timers reappeared. There's no "Back" option either. I'm not paying to watch the last 60 seconds of every program in a shrunken screen or have to fumble with my remote before the show even ends. I'll be canceling the service within a month if this continues.

I am wondering if this is a hardware based issue, either your streaming box, or your television.
Otherwise, I think this is your silver bullet, just turn it off the automatic post play in your Netflix acct.

You sir should get a metal for dealing with cranky ppl like myself! wink I was not aware of these settings at all. I'll look into it and hopefully it will resolve my problem. I am steaming via Apple TV.
I was going to call customer support sooner or later, but I needed to defuse first! big grin

That is alright, I understand what you are bothered with, I did not like that function much either.
As best I can tell this should work for you, you will just have to use your energy to move your finger to select the next episode, slightly less lazy than the auto function they defaulted everyone to. But I am a credits watcher myself.
