What bothers me the most is the psychical effect of so many trailers before the movie, which actually can lead to another thread. Your senses and body are ready and willing as you enter the theatre to see the film you want to see and paid for. However after being bombarded with so many fast moving loud coming attractions, I feel my senses have been lowered a bit, that when the movie I came to see finally starts, my senses are not as acute. Now if you were a movie fan who really enjoyed coming attractions when video came in the 80's I and others would put together compilation coming attraction tapes on our Betamax or VHS machines. What I found out was, due to the nature of how these things are put together, one will tire much quicker after watching a hour or 2 of these coming attractions then if they just were watching a regular feature length film. That is why hanging out in the lobby until what I want to see starts is my recent way of doing things. I never was a coach potato viewer, I am very particular how and when I view a film.Since it was also my career, I don't want to be drugged into another state of mind. One or two trailers is enough for me, before a movie.

Lots of stuff I agree with here: the vapid commercials followed by an endless amount of trailers, the predictible and processed way ALL trailers seem to be prepared, the manner in which all this pre-show "noise" kills your mood and/or anticipation for the main feature, etc... There is not even that sweet "maybe I'll see, for my first time, a teaser for that upcoming movie I'm really looking forward to" possibility anymore because I've usually already watched that trailer on YouTube.
