I know there was a post about this a little while back but I am still confused. I had e-mailed SAE asking if they still ship USPS. They said they do. However, today I got a tracking number that shows UPS. Which is it? Anybody know?
Please no flaming, this is just a question. Thanks!

Based on past purchases, tracking numbers begining with 9400 are sent straight thru the post office. Those numbers begining with 927489 are sent thru the hybrid UPS Innovations, a combination of UPS and the USPS which takes twice as long.
I don't know if I'd call it "working with." Essentially UPS is big a USPS customer. For Mail Innovations, UPS transports the parcel via some last-class service of theirs that is somehow slower than standard ground service to your local/regional USPS processing center. From there USPS will deliver it to your doorstep.

I wrote to SAE about the slower service and was informed by Ed that they were going back to the old method after numerous complaints (effective a week ago Monday). I think that means back to USPS Priority Mail. Like many others, I really hated the UPS/USPS hydrid because it added a full week to the shipping times at no cost savings to the customer. At any rate, kudos to SAE for responding to customer demand....and fairly quickly.
I have an odd one. I ordered something from Amazon, it started via UPS, was passed off to USPS in the city. USPS delivered to a different address, not where it was addressed, a work address for my wife.

OK, so it is being sent through the U.S. Postal Service. I got my tracking number. Has anybody's order arrived at Linden,VA. or Merrifield, VA. Post Office yet ? Just inquiring.
I've worked in some form of a purchasing / receiving / distribution / selling capacity my entire working life since age 15 and I can firmly say I've never seen such bad service as I have this yuletide season. Whatever it is that UPS/USPS agreed on, its end result was basically screwing the customer as hard as they could.
Not sure if this has anything to do with this, but I recently heard major distribution centers have been closed in order to save on losses.
It was on the news that a large USPS sorting facility in Atlanta will be closed, to save money.
I have a better idea. The USPS should fire all those over-paid execs who do nothing, and give raises to the people who actually do all the work and deserve a raise!

Just saying .........
That's not the problem. Congress forces the USPS to save a hundred percent of it's pensions up front, which no other company in America does. They are trying to bankrupt the organization so it can be put into the hands of private businesses. Also just an FYI for those that do not know, the USPS gets zero taxes dollars.

Never seen this before
No wonder USPS is losing money!
Yeah, it seems like they have some system looking and addressed persons name, and it takes it there instead of the address sometimes. If you are someone with a really common name - well, who knows. I though that they never even looked at the persons name before.
