Since this isn't film music related I decided to post my inquiry here rather than on the General Discussion board.
Was wondering if you could help me out with a search as I'm looking for info on the (Danish) Melodi Light Orchestra, an ensemble that recorded light classical miniatures in the fifties for the British-based Chappell Music Production Library. One of the orchestra's conductors names was Ole Jensen, which I now believe was a pseudonym for composer/arranger Robert Farnon. Jensen is credited with the conducting on a MLO recording that featured the instrumental "Puffin' Billy." The tune in question had quite a life as both the signature tune to BBC's "Children's Favourites" and, for twenty years, as the main title theme for the US children's series, "Captain Kangaroo" (both series used this recording). If you can give some ideas as to where I might find info on the MLO I'd really appreciate it.
Sending you winter holiday greetings from the Southeastern US.
Off the top of my head, I don't really know where to look, sorry. Maybe a way to go is to contact the Danish organization for composers and lyricists - http://dpa.org/
I think it's a good lead, Thor. Should be able to find out something.
My thought is that the orchestra recorded at Danmarks Radio (where Vikaren, Dybt Vand was recorded), 'Jensen' (Farnon?) conducting the studio's in-house light music orchestra.
