Paul McCartney - New
OMD - English Electric
David Bowie - The Next Day
Bob Dylan - The Bootleg Series Vol. 10: Another Self Portrait

My acquisitions of non-film music material from the year 2013 is extremely sparse. No CD's, but maybe a couple of downloads, like Juno Reactor's latest album. Maybe a couple of albums that are NOT from 2013.

1. Hell - Curse and Chapter
2. Dream Theater - Dream Theater
3. Stratovarius - Nemesis
4. The Poodles - Tour De Force
5. Illusion Suite - Iron Cemetary
6. Jupiter - Classical Element

This is the only set of albums worth including on a list like this sadly. The HELL album blows everything else away handily. Not a horrible year but nothing too exciting on the metal and rock front.

Are you familiar with Ulrich Schnauss, Thor? What do you think of this:

Pretty nice. Laidback and 'café del mar'-ish.

In the postings about new soundtracks, new releases of old soundtracks are usually cited more than newly composed ones, so what about CD reissues of non-soundtracks? I bought the brand new 24-CD boxed set of "GARY GRAFFMAN: The Complete RCA and Columbia Album Collection," and have listened to 8 of the 24 CDs so far, and they've been wonderful. Just love pianist Gary Graffman.
