If I have bought an expanded album, I play every track, yes.

Does it really matter...? English isn't a lot of people's first language. So what if her english (grammar) isn't (or always) perfect? Get over it...

Because we have had lots of tricky people banned from this site lately and they always seem to sneak back in using fake profiles like this one. I just call it like I see it. This person is NOT legit. They are most likely Yor, Facehugger or some other previously banned poster pretending to play nice so they can still be part of the discussion.

Kim is most likely Erik Donovan, as he/she signed up to the board two days after he was banned.

This has got to stop. I e-mailed Mr. Sones a few weeks ago to plead my case and you guys are still falsely accusing me of being someone I am not. Please let it rest and how is it said, "Get a life." Mr. Sones what can be done here?

That "how is it said, get a life" was a nice touch. Bringing back the broken English shtick? Sorry, but we can see right through it.

What does it matter if Kim is a previously banned poster, a new poster, or the Queen of England? If her current posts, and posts for the past year, have been mainly contributive to the board, then it's a positive. And if not, the real moderator will surely take care of it without the help of backseat drivers (it seems like he has looked into it over the past few weeks, and Kim is still here).

If they were banned in the past it was for a reason and they should stay that way.

Of course! Sometimes the expanded tracks (or alternates, what have you) I find to be better than the original. The most recent example i can think of is Roque Banos' Evil Dead score. the last track on the La-La Land release is an alternate version of Come Back To Me which was a better done version in my opinion

This is a good question.

I confess that I often do not listen to the alternates. I believe on occassion I have previewed some tracks just to get a taste of what was 'discarded' (bad word), and my usual conclusion is that the superior selections were made.

Perhaps thats where the liner notes are useful - if the notations speak of an alternate approach to scoring a scene that is remakably peculiar compared to the official sequence, I think my curiousity is piqued. Another instance where I`ll have a listen is when I see that symbol in the track listing denoting "not used in film", although in that case the track normally is part of the regular programme... .

[Note: I *will* take a look at the STTMP extras though, for sure.]
(I know, I know... savouring. Or I`m just slow. Or both.)

That is true. For Star Trek Insurrection the cue "Tractor Beam" I actually used the alternate one. It felt weird not having the Goldsmith signature synths with that cue. Especially hearing it with out the synths then going into the revised film version for "The Healing Process" (or as I called it Inside The Collector).

99% of the time though I use the film versions for cues since that's what I've been use to hearing. Unless the album versions of some cues have unused music that was cut from the film version. Then I'll replace it with the album version.
